Can India lead Asia?

Indeed! India is nowhere near leading Asia. In fact Vajpeyi once said that 'Indian is not interested in becoming super power as long as it is France of Asia.'

But I'd like to disagree with you on not having friendly relations with its neighbours. :disagree:

Nepal and Bhutan - Indian allies
Bangladesh, Burma and Sri Lanka - Freindly countries
China - Neither too friendly country nor an adversary. Competitor - yes.

So technically it's just Pakistan we have problems with. :)

Don't forget Maldives- they are simply an extension of India
Citizens of Nepal,Maldives & Bhutan do not need visas to visit India.

Maldivians need visa to come to India, mate. Only Nepal and Bhutan are under the OPEN BORDERS treaty.

I stand corrected. I think its visa on arrival.
There is a lot of Maldivian citizens living in my city (Thiruvananthapuram) mainly for education & medical purposes. Almost all fresh produce to that country is flown my city. Its sometimes joked that half of Maldivians live in my city. So much is the influence of Maldives that there are some institutions that advertise in Daivehi language and many in my city speak the same fluently.

Zabanya,

How many military aircrashes are reported from China?

None!

Perfect airforce.

The best in the world. 100% safe and operational!!

How many civil airline crashes?

Quite a few.

Why?

The Chinese State Controlled media will suppress the military crashes as they have tried to suppress the train crashes.

But train and civil airliner crashes cannot be hidden because the passengers are of various international origin.

One has to take the Chinese post with a shipload of salt!

QED.

It's feasible.

Hell, even the USAF suffer from crashes.

I did not take your ROFL seriously.

I merely pressed the wrong radio button for my reply!

How does it matter how many crashes. The supersonic fighters with tight manoeuvres are prone to metal fatigue and other problems.

Crashes happen.

In military life, one has to expect the inevitable meeting with the Maker.

One cannot live a scared life!

Some live. Some die.

But their lives are not in vain!

But then none can compare with China as per the Chinese posters comments.

China is Paradise!

There have been four known crashes of the J-10 to date. The first crash was of a prototype combat aircraft during testing in 1998 with the most likely cause cited as failure of the fly-by-wire flight control system.
In 2007, a second crash occurred near Guilin involving a J-10 of the PLAAF's 2nd Division.
A third crash occurred in August 2009 when pilot Meng Fansheng was forced to eject from his aircraft when the aircraft suffered an abrupt loss of engine power. An official investigation by the PLAAF also echoed that the crash was the result of the failure of the AL-31F engine on the aircraft.
A fourth crash involving the aircraft occurred on April 22, 2010 when an active duty J-10 of the PLAAF crashed killing the commander of the 9th Division. A report that the Chinese government tried to cover up the crash but was unable to do so when the funeral for the dead pilot gained prominence was published by the German based Defense Professionals website. Official reports now blame pilot error.
In addition, it was reported that on March 7, 2009 that an active duty J-10 suffered a loss of all onboard avionics during a tactical training exercise. However, the pilot of the aircraft, Lieutenant Colonel Li Feng was able to land the aircraft safely. The pilot cited the cause of the avionics failure as smoke in the cockpit presumably generated by the engine which had leaked in from the environmental control system.

Reported by Wikipedia.

The usual cry will be - The West hates us and makes up stories.

I would like to see it being reported by China Daily or Global Times.

You will be condemned as a paid agent of the West for using Wiki and western sources.

China is Paradise!

Nothing could be more perfect!

Gods descend from Heaven reside there! Or so I am convinced to believe!

To be a superpower you need Economic, Military, Cultural and Ideological influences does India have any of that ?

.
Even the Soviet Union during the 70's, 80's and 90's is far more advanced then India today, you can't be a Superpower with 400-500 million living in poverty.
