Can I take Whey Protein Supplement ?

be careful in taking protein supplements. they increase uric acid levels in the body and the person may ends up developing pain in joints a condition called gout.

Nothing can replace a good workout and a healthy diet.
Incorporate whey after your workouts and during recovery. Include chana, dahi, dudh, dal, eggs, white meat, and almonds in your diet.

I have a question for Health enthusiasts and Body Builders , so my Age is 28 and my height is 6'1 , but my weight is around 60-62Kgs , I have had hard time gaining weight I tried Gym but I have 2 Aluminium Plates in my left hand because of broken bones some 6-8 years ago, every time i tried Working out it eventually start hurting my left arm , so until i have my surgery and remove those Plates i am not comfortable with doing workout .

My question is from a long time , I tried to ask various people and local doctors if i can take Protein Supplement (Whey Gold Standard) , some of the Doctors say No, but some says you can , same thing goes with people , some says its ok to take it and some use fear like it has Steroids and has side effects etc . It always makes me confused about either I can take it or not ? I want to gain weight but even having normal three time meals i think my Protein intake is not as much as i might need to gain weight . So what do you guys think ? Can i take Whey Supplement without working out ? ?

beaware of these supplements if you want to put some mass then in first you should stay away from these protein supplement, specially the mass gainer which have extra carotene which effects some how our body specially the kidneys. for protein you can use fish, chicken, peanut butter also a good source of protein and if you add banana and peanut butter then its good for weight gain. Many people are using protein supplement but for safe side i would personally suggest you dont take it.

I cant lift or workout , So it wont be a problem right ?someone told me that you can take such supplements when you do workout .
If you don't workout you don't break your muscle fibers, if they don't break they don't use that protein you drink or have everyday, it's simple break it again and make it again, that's how muscle fibers become thick and strong.
It's waste if you don't workout, it would only convert into fats and get stored by the body...

I am 6'1 and 79/80 Kgs and skinny. Interesting thing, I also have screws in my elbow and can't lift heavy weight. As for protein whey, I tried it couple of times previously but it messes with my acid reflux problem.

Now, coming to your case. You BMI is 18.1 which puts you in Underweight category.
As for whey, you can surely use but its long use with no exercise might give you a bit of tummy. So a little bit physical activity would be good.

I have few dumbells at home which I use few times a week.

I had digestive issues in the beginning. You should try to take smaller amounts to begin with.

@Starlord work around your weakness. Try to work on shoulders, back, chest, legs etc. . Do squats and deadlifts to help make muscle gain faster. You’ll end up a way more rounded physique.

It is not necessary for one to lift weights and build muscles, there are plenty of body weight training exercises, calisthenics ........ and whey protein is best effective within half an hour of tough annihilating weight lifting training workout, else its just a shok for the sake of it. To gain weight one should look at carbs intake rather than whey proteins or proteins .... and these whey proteins come with a mixture of fat burners and BCAs etc.

For that much height you are definitely underweight .You need to take some high powered weight gaining supplements not the whey protein.

Your problem is two fold. Firstly, you have to design some program that works around your injuries. Do some sorta body exercises and play sports. You have to stimulate the muscle fibers via some sorta exercise to gain muscle, otherwise excessive eating or whey protein intake not that effective.

Secondly, whey protein is not some magic formula that will make you look buff in just 8 weeks. Also, it is not steroids as some people think. This whole fitness thing is like a marathon bro.
