Bakhtawar terms Ehteram-e-Ramazan Bill as ‘ridiculous law’

I could understand if there was public menace troubling those who are fasting. But in a country where majority are following the Ramzan practices, putting up this kind of law only empowers the mulla mentality and not an open mind mentality.

You are too late to realize :p
So is India- right wing extremist run rampant there too now- hopefully , you might realize that

So after almost 70 years of independence, and a massively booming population and growing intolerance - common courtesy over ramadan just ended overnight?

Yes.
Thanks to the polarization we enjoy now.
Running away from reality will not solve its problem.

By the way such recommendations are also passed on Easter where dance is prohibited.

The law needs some practical amendments i agree. But that is practical in nature the debate not philosophical.

Laws are made as precautionary measures.
Its also common courtesy not to drive over a cyclist when driving. Now why do we need a law for that.
Prevention rather cure.

And Pakistan was not made to go to hell.

Anyone else want to be charged just like Altaf Hussain for repeating this?

Pakistan as Banana republic is still livable but if Pakistan become a Mullah republic, than Good Bye Pakistan .. these mullah will Rip Pakistan and Pakistani's apart .. this is haram and that is haram, Pakistan is dying a slow death

Luckily we have some sanity somewhere to keep the fabric of secularism tight.

Then why there was so much of out cry over the Beef Ban in India, it atleast kept all other options open for food :D

Because of the violence.
That is a classic example of rules lagging behind society.
You want that in Pakistan?

This law is discriminatory, they should put it away. This is really ridiculous.

Do the people who give these laws not understand that there are people called "non-muslims" or people who are "sick" or women who might be pregnant or they might be menstruating. Maybe someone is travelling and away from home and is hungry, maybe someone is a muslim but just doesn't fast, maybe someone feels nauseac and needs to eat?

Mullaism seems to be gaining strong foothold in Pakistan, unfortunately. To eliminate terrorism, these terrorists in form of religious ministers need to be curtailed first. Way so many religious hooligans demanding their way of false interpretation of Islam.

It is not the state's job to dictate and enforce common morality, it is the state's job however to ensure provision of services. Maybe the state should stop worrying about when people should be eating and work on doing their actual job, which they suck at.

To stop the black man being called nigger should be an issue of morality or legality or both? Some will say it is to do with morality, others will say it is a legal issue, what do you say? Afterall, it is just a word ... how can calling someone with a SINGLE word be a crime!!?

:drag:

This law is downright silly

Lmao

Like in Pakistan? kidnapping Muslim women's to convert them to Hindus? How many cases have u even heard? In India rights and laws are provided to safeguard every minority. Do u even have such laws till now?

The concept of Ramadan is testing ur patience and perseverance. Anyway I dont care. Its ur country, ur law. Something like this will be never allowed in India. Before you bring up Beef ban, every Indian state has its own authority, if the politicians came to power telling to ban beef, then they have every right to do it. A promise to bring beef ban in Kerala will make even a strong party lose elections. Hence the difference before u bring up any comparisons.. :P

The word as such is not the focus of the action in this case, it is the history and connotation. In short, saying the word "Nigger" isn't the issue and neither is it illegal. It is racial abuse that solicits state response.
