Any Gym goers or Bodybuilders in this forum

Haha sorry to hear that man, be careful. I am more scared of the emotional trauma my family will give me for years if they find out I broke something doing this at home lol. Gym is different.
i am at beginners level been doing it for 2 months losing weight is a priority for now but i find calisthenics better than lifting weight i feel stronger but thats my opinion!

and yes i have to be extra careful not to break things around the house!

Calisthenics makes you stronger and fitter. But if you don't add weights, you won't see progress in strength and muscle size as most likely you will plateau so you will have go to a gym.

But you still can do calisthenics by putting additional weight. That would be more challenging.

yeh weight calisthenics thats the plan but for future hopefully in 3-4 months!

@waz

Do you perform Parallel bar dips? I feel it hurts my shoulders.

No stay away, I find the time spend doesn't justify the outcomes.
I stick to the core powerlifting big 3, two others mixed in with each of them, and then some calisthenics.
Road work and bag work take up the rest.

Weightlifting and bodybuilding is not same. Bodybuilding is a sub-sect of weightlifting. There are many different types of weightlifting.

What you are referring to is bodybuilding which is primarily focused on building a good looking body. You have to work each part of your body and you need to rest and eat a lot.

But there are other forms of weightlifting too which focuses more on strength and endurance than on muscle size like Powerlifting and weighted calisthenics.

Powerlifting is entirely focused on strength and endurance. Squats, Deadlifts, Bench press are the key and you need to lift heavy *** weights and rest for a short period of time.

Weighted calisthenics is basically pull ups, push ups, dips and leg workout with weights. This can build a good looking body and build awesome strength.

Weightlifting is a broader term.

Your on the right path. I dont see the point of having a great muscular body with no strength or flexibility. I would suggest to do some heavy benchpress, deadlifts, Rows, Squats, military presses and barbell curls. I guarantee you will feel amazing and strong within 6months, you gota continue going higher. 1rep max will make you tire and most people quit afterwards so I advice stick to 4 sets and 1st set 12reps, 2nd set 10reps, 3rd set 8 reps and 4th set 6reps.

Also read on boxing workouts, weightlifting for boxers and follow that once a week. You will be strong man within a year :)

Well it depends. If you are into bodybuilding and modelling or wants to become an actor then obviously you would need a muscular body with six pack abs however if you are a common man then strength and flexibility is more important for you. Also common Gym goers can have a good physique just by focusing on strength training.

Most people are obsessed with six pack abs and a John Abraham/Hrithik Roshan type body.

Tbh in real life girls don't give a shit about your body. Hrithik Roshan or John Abraham are celebrities and you are not.

I was a gym goer, but I had no time anymore. Working from home however has given me a little bit more time allowing me to workout regularly. My main activity now consists of running in the early morning before work and just some basic exercises at home before night. All I have for equipment is a set of dumbbells. Each session takes around 20-30 mins at most so I can fit it in to my schedule quite comfortably. Going to the gym is a near impossible task to keep up regularly if you’re really pressed for time.

@PakAlp @waz I need 5 day strength training program.

And this is what brings my question.

I broke my elbow and have 2 screws in it. For the rest of my life, my one arm is going to be twisted for around 15 degrees.

Question is, if I join gym and strat chest and shoulders exercises, wouldn't my body be built in asymmetric way? How to avoid that? Hmm... anybody??
