Altay & Turkish Main Battle Tank Programs

So most of it will come from subcontractors like Otokar, Aselsan, Rotetsan etc.

The tank plant will be modernized by BMC. They will improve the factory by investing 50 million USD immediately. But this Austrian journalist also claims that 15 to 20 billion USD will be invested in the coming years. What is he talking about?

"der Standard" = toilette paper

I wouldn't take them and their articles serious.

This concept may be Leopard2A4 upgrade solution of BMC. The launchers at the top of the turret must be OMTAS.

What’s the latest is this tank ever going to see mass production

There was a project of breech loading ATGM such as Israels LAHAT and Ukrainian Falarick- KOMBAT - KONUS. However atgm's launch from a barrel have a laser guidance so OMTAS with IR guidance would be superior.

BMC/Qatar move was a smart one in a long run. Im just using this opportunity to put it here so I can gloat later like Im smartner then most of you, hehe. This partnership has much more potential and far bexonf Altays ( and number of their ordersthey plan). Qataris dont to nothing small, parnerships they make they make them with intention with big, longterm efefcts in mind, they found ideal parner in Erdogan and Turkey. Just have a little more patiantce my turkish brothers, dont let youself to every topic, subject, evaluate and judge thru the lens of your local politacal battles.

And this multinational partnership offers many export possibilities. Tomorrow it's Qatar, after Qatar there is Malaysia, Indonesia, Algeria and in the end there are Turkic nations and other nations like Hungary. Turkey could be one of the world leaders in armed industry, but only if you set your goals higher from Turkey.

Boeing, Lockheed Martin, Northrop Grumman, BAE...

All big defence companies are multinationals in one way or the other. Their financiers certanly are. If you want to catch em, be in the race, you have to.
