Al Jazeera: Kashmir Meeting ends without consensus!

Whether India wants war or not; but they have certainly created a situation, in which war can start, at any time.

.
I am always of the strong opinion that UN is an irrelevant, dead pos organization. It has never done anything meaningful in its past. Palestinians are being slaughtered for last 70 years, Kashmir issue is unsolved for last 70 years, Bosnian genocide, Iraq war on fake weapons of mass destruction BS etc.

But anyways, now the so called "International Community", which our elites look up to, will have no excuse when we use force.

There is a famous quote of Bismarck for situations like these:
"The great questions of the day will not be settled by means of speeches and majority decisions but by iron and blood".

.
Taking the issue to unsc and highlighting it was an achievement. The gangus panic-ridden responses are a proof that the tactic worked and india was caught with her panties down. What happens beyond this is up for debate
At last pakistan consider that a discussion at UN is an achievement.. sigh

Response of Indian diplomat itself says everything...

@Alternatiiv read this, its an indian paper

Russia stuns India, invokes UN resolutions on Kashmir

Much to New Delhi's surprise, Russia on Friday referred to the charter and resolutions of the United Nations while expressing hope that India and Pakistan would settle the dispute over Kashmir.
Russia expressed hope during a closed-door consultation of the Security Council at the headquarters of the United Nations in New York that India and Pakistan would settle the dispute over Kashmir in accordance with the charter and the relevant resolutions of the international organisation as well as bilateral agreements.
Russia continues to consistently promote normalisation of #India - #Pakistan ties,” Dmitry Polyanskiy, Russia's Deputy Permanent Representative to the United Nations, tweeted while participating at the closed-door consultation of the Security Council. We hope that existing divergences around #Kasmir (Kashmir) will be settled bilaterally by political and diplomatic means only on the basis of Simla Agreement of 1972 and Lahore declaration of 1999, in accordance with UN Charter, relevant UN resolutions and bilateral agreements between India and Pakistan,” Polyanskiy posted on Twitter. Polyanskiy represented the Government of Russian Federation at the UNSC's closed-door consultation on Pakistan's plea for an emergency session of the council to discuss India's recent moves to strip Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) of its “special status” and to reorganize the state into two Union Territories. What surprised New Delhi was his reference to “UN charter” and “relevant UN resolutions” while hoping for a settlement between India and Pakistan to end the row over Kashmir.
\r\n\r\n
His tweet had gone against New Delhi's long-standing position that the Simla Agreement in 1972 signed by Indira Gandhi and Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, the then Prime Ministers of India and Pakistan, had left no scope for the UN or any third party to get involved in the process to resolve the “outstanding issues” between the two nations. The principle of the Simla Agreement had again been reaffirmed by Lahore Declaration issued by then Prime Minister AB Vajpayee and his then Pakistani counterpart M Nawaz Sharif in 1999.
\r\n\r\n
India has been invoking Simla Agreement and Lahore Declaration to resist attempts by Pakistan to internationalise the bilateral dispute over Kashmir and raise it at the UN General Assembly or the Security Council. New Delhi also recently refuted US President Donald Trump's claim that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had requested him to mediate between India and Pakistan to help them resolve the dispute over Kashmir. India's position was well known to its “old friend” Russia. Yet Russia's deputy envoy to United Nations on Friday ended up echoing Pakistan's “iron brother” China, when he expressed hope that New Delhi and Islamabad should settle the dispute in accordance with bilateral agreements as well as UN charter and resolutions.
\r\n\r\n
New Delhi reached out to all the five permanent members – US, China, Russia, France and United Kingdom – as well as most of the 10 non-permanent members of the UNSC over the past 24 hours in order to make sure that the closed-door consultation within the council does not lead to formal return of the J&K issue on the Horse-Shoe Table.
\r\n\r\n
But the only P-5 nation New Delhi was relying on without an iota of doubt was Russia.
\r\n\r\n
India was pretty convinced that Russia would firmly stand by it and stop the UNSC from taking any decision that might help Pakistan internationalise the issue of Kashmir.
\r\n\r\n
Moscow had in fact endorsed New Delhi's position when Pakistan's Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi had called his Russian counterpart Sergey Lavrov on Wednesday to seek support against the recent decisions of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Government on J&K. “There is no alternative to resolve differences between Pakistan and India except bilaterally through political and diplomatic means,” a press release issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russian Government had quoted Lavrov telling Qureshi.
Moscow had earlier also endorsed New Delhi's argument that Modi Government's decisions on J&K were “internal” affairs of India.
The Union of Soviet Socialist Republic– the predecessor of the Russian Federation – had used its veto at the UNSC several times in the past to foil attempts on behalf of Pakistan to get the Security Council to pass resolutions against India on the issue of Kashmir

Even before meeting any invasion attempt would be unquestionably war. It draws no line in sand.

And if you think Pakistan will strike IOK, you're high like all others here posting threads on how it should happen.
For us sure, but the world needs to be completely unequivocally clear that Amit Shah is calling for invasion of a sovereign state and therefore war - and he will probably get it. The "war on terror" or "surgical strike" narrative needs to be RELENTLESSLY debunked.

Need I remind you.... Really need I remind you or any other naysayers that uniformed personnel of India have already crossed the LOC more than once without a declaration of war?

AK is not India's backyard where it gets to live out its wet dreams of being as powerful as Israel or USA.

So yes, you and I know the red line is there, but the world needs to be absolutely clear on it.

In fact, I would say we should be emphasising the above points to the world far more than we already are.

Notwithstanding the AK issue, any militarily weaker belligerent MUST engage in total hybrid warfare. There are ways to beat India. It would certainly not be unprecedented to generate sufficient all round pressure to force their hand. Now that the humanitarian element and the Chinese objections have been brought sharply into focus, Pakistan can keep the pressure on and try to anticipate India's next steps. It is not impossible. It is perfectly appropriate and indeed should be encouraged that the media, diplomatic and informational fronts be fortified and advanced aggressively.

Would you have our diplomats sit on their thumbs? Why bother at all? North Korea has a great marketing strategy by saying nothing to anyone except the occasional missile test notice.

As for whether we strike india or not, it is more likely war will be forced on us. But there is still a 50:50 chance of us initiating a conflict. Why? If IoK Kashmiris flee persecution and flood towards AK, this is effectively an attempted genocide/ethnoreligious cleansing of IoK, which will force Pakistan's hand, unless you want us to be another Jordan or Lebanon. India can very easily feed the world its bs Hindu pandit narrative and claim that it has some kind of moral justification for committing genocide.

Heads need to be unburied from their comfortable pockets of sand.

It looks like people here don't understand why India is doing this.
It's simple. If you're running a state, and a religious group starts violence /or separatism--you go all out and crush the group.

This is how the world operates. And that's why you're seeing less support from the world.
India is doing this for preserving its statehood. You are doing this for your faith.

Another point - as long as you have an army on the other side of Kashmir, India can't realistically take it.

It is likely that your political and military leaders already understand this. So both sides will keep issuing inflammatory statements for a while, at least for a few years.
It is also possible that you guys attack us in a Kargil style scenario, but even that seems a few years off.

Nothing will happen. Only LOC cross firing and shelling. It's all drama.

Pakistan Government IS fooling us.

Russian envoy can be seen here saying that it was 'better to not touch on the issue.'

So, what part of this meeting was a success, or is the Government fooling its people again?

Narative building. Our people are still too dumb to understand 5th gen warefare.

I can see right through SMQ's BS and it makes my blood boil.

.
Is anybody surprised?
Our coward leadership has now sold the churan of unsc, what next now?

Question is: was consensus or some resolution the only goal or the most optimistic one?

In less than 2 weeks, an issue which was mentioned on and off with a general bias in world media towards a flashpoint for two countries resulting from Pakistan’s support of “terror” groups in Indian Kashmir along with a general ignorance of the issue , has changed narrative to a disputed territory where Indian atrocities are now highlighted and world leaders are engaged in trying to get a compromise going on Indian moves?

So is it really the “nothing changed” as the online Indian claims?
Perhaps not through any binding resolutions yet, but in terms of publicity, support among different ngo’s and lobbying groups, population awareness, and trending social media exposure; the change is priceless.
Dhume and his wife Ayers are crying on Twitter that for the first time they are getting aggressive questions on Kashmir by multiple foreign media.

Yet another UNSC President has said Kashmir will not be discussed at the UNSC. Russia and South Afric said the same thing when they held the UNSC presidency. Looks like Pakistan has failed to internationalize Kashmir.
