According to ARY press conference , Sharia demand was not on agenda in first round of talk between govt and TTP, but TTP is demanding sharia in Pakistan. Another one bite the dust.
As per agreement , all negotiation supposed to be held under the constitution of Pakistan.

The sharia demand as a must condition was from maulana abdul aziz and samiul haq, without consulting taliban...taliban's goal is sharia but when they talk abov peace treaty , it is usually relevant to war in tribal areas...
Abdul aziz was saying from the begining that he wont be part of peace process unless sharia is enforced in pakistan. He thinks it is his golden chance to demand shariat from governament...on the other hand pressing concern for taliban is not sharia in islamabad but they cant say so as it would jeopardize their entire movement, they often talk about enforcing sharia in pakistan to legitimize and justify their movement...you need to convince your fighters that they are fighting for greater cause. It also helps them cooperation of punjabi militants with them in attacks.

Peace talks are a stupid thing. Normally govt. keep working on their clean up operation against the armed groups like this, and as the back door channel, they secretly talk with them. That is just sort of a hook for them. With those secret talks, if they could get someone on their side, that is the goal of these talks.
Openly talking with them, is just giving a signal to anyone, that whatever you do against the state. We are ready to talk with you.

How they are loosing credibility? There are different opinions within the nation, there are people who believe we should try peace talks. So why don't we give it a try? States always have other options just in case...

More or less I think this is how this will end. There are just too much differences to fix unless TTP is going to play like DR. Tahir ul Qadri and call it a deal on some promises here and there.

But still talks have a benefit. If we do a military attack on Taliban's bases then the people will say that army is evil and killing innocent people of here and there...
Talks will show the people what Taliban want and what they can do for it. In the end, people will support military operation or Taliban will surrender.

Now new twist in negotiation . Major Amir angry at Malvi Aziz for talking about Sharia, openly criticizing his behavior in media. Plus Siddqi ask govt to open investigation against Movi Aziz having link with Molvi Fazalullah in Afghanistan, about going on talks...
