His just shocked thst India build destroyers nu clear powered subs and even aircraft carriers India and they look awesome
 
Not Cheap.... All the so called modern gadgets came from Korea / Taiwan/ Japan.


Well motor of that missile is design / developed in India..... Like wise you didnt Thanks Russians to design your Chopper , and you Started Beating drums you Designed in China Or the Chopper engine you lied to Canada for?
And our ship isn't having a multifunction radar of our own,
 
MDL Starts Production of 4th Destroyer of Visakhapatnam Class


Commodore Rakesh Anand, Chairman & Managing Director, Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders Limited, inaugurated the Commencement of Production activity of Y-12707, fourth destroyer of Visakhapatnam Class on 19 July’ 2018 in the South Yard Production Shop, in the presence of Mr. Sanjiv Sharma, Director (Finance); Cmde T V Thomas, Director (Corporate Planning and Personnel); RAdm A K Saxena, Director (Shipbuilding), Mr. Satish Pendharkar, Chief Vigilance Officer and other senior officials of MDL and Indian Navy.

The Visakhapatnam class destroyers (P15B) are follow-on warships of the Kolkata class. Four destroyers in this class are under construction in MDL. The first of P15B warship ‘Visakhapatnam’ was launched in April 2015 and the second ‘Mormugao’ in September 2016. Both are at advanced stages of outfitting.

The P15B class destroyers will have enhanced stealth characteristics. These ships are being built using indigenously developed steel and fitted with state-of-the-art weapon and sensor systems. They will have advanced Integrated Platform Management System.

INS Visakhapatnam is equipped with IAI EL/M-2248 MF-STAR ,a multifuntion active electronically scanned array naval radar system developed by IAI Elta for maritime installation on warships. It is capable of tracking both air and surface targets and providing fire control guidance.MF-STAR is an acronym of Multi-Function Surveillance, Track And Guidance Radar.

Apart form this An AESA (Active Electronically Scanned Array) a phased array radar is also inducted in this destroyers.For search operations Thales made LW-08 D-band air search radar is there.The destroyer is also equipped with BEL HUMSA-NG bow sonar and BEL Nagin active towed array sonar .

The aviation facilities include flight deck which can carry 2 x Westland Sea King or Hal Dhruv helicopters.It also includes Dual Enclosed hangar for a combination of 2 Westland Sea King, Chetak or HAL Dhruv helicopters.

Yup we did not go for economies of scale and an appropriate modular design concept. This will hinder expansion of raw numbers for at least cpl decades...but at least the technology development should be fine. India just has to be economical in its doctrine.

the big worry is sending them into the sea with out the Helis..... Whats the current status of the ASW Helis???
