Pakistan carries out airstrikes along AfPak border

My point is retaliatory air strikes won't do much. For such operations we need to have 24/7 high definition video surveillance with roadblocks to prevent terries from leaving the kill zone.Airpower must attack while ground forces should just keep the perimeter. But we need IEA cooperation for that, so we need to achieve that by hook or crook

Im
This literally is the reason that military has finally done what we have been begging them to do for so long. This alone should be sufficent to never vote for PTI again tbh.
Imran khan wanted to stop blood shed and wanted to bring peace and economic connectivity and you and your leaders want war, destruction and bloodshed. This is the difference.

PTM was openly saying they were Afghani and not Pakistani, they were creating a divide between Pashtuns and other ethnic groups in Pakistan. They were even inciting violence against Pakistan Army, and were attacking Pakistan Army posts. PTM was defeated because those who were backing and funding them got defeated in Afghanistan.

Because they consider Afghan to mean Pashtun. Now they are part of the gov. Whoever thought to oust Imran Khan is a genius. We have people that hate Pakistan to be in the gov LOL

Tandem warhead would take care of that. I dunno whether TTP have those. We need to study if MRAPs are equally valuable in mountainous terrain. This area mountainous & all travel is in valleys. The elevation is up to 7-8 K feet.
No
And RPG are inaccurate
USA lost less then 3000 men and less then 1000 after MRAPs

We are losing a 1000 men a year because we refuse to buy them

so you agree with IK? at first I agreed with him but when I read in depth and realized how PTM is made up of refugees, they still have anti-Pak sentiments , how recently famous actress of PTV who was Afghan refugee ended up retweeting sanction Pakistan(abiet from 80s when we were much much more accepting as a country due to concentrated GOP messaging- My older brothers talked about how on command of imam masjid they were supposed to bike all around Lahore city collecting chanda for Afghan refugees, still to this day don't know where that chanda went though  - all that summer heat biking probably went to some fat maulanas tid )
Wish we could have built up a brotherly relationship from that goodwill, maybe civil wars of 90s destroyed our relationship

I am not opposed to IK's plans but I would need concrete reasons for it- if we can have 2 million illegal Bangladeshis than Afghans are atleast neighbors

So not fundamentaly opposed to it- but after reading up I am more concerned and would want solid arguments from IK to make this happen
They should have anti pakistan thoughts because of what we do to them
You need to come to pakistan and see what happens when a police stops a passenger car or when someone steal something..first to be dragged to jails are afghanis
They are livibg in priah state..say what you say but thats the reality

They are outsiders its obvious they will hate pakistan

We have two choices
Kick them out(not feasible or we would have done it)
Or accept them and let them pay taxes and give them a sense of home rather then asking them to betray us

Thank you Pakistan Airforce for never disappointing nation unlike your army counterparts
It's the airforce which made the real difference in any war in the history of Pakistan. Army used it manpower to gain more power and influence inside borders of Pakistan.

True, they were also funded by NDS, but you see the problem now is that our enemies want the remaining TTP to create a war between Pakistan and Afghanistan by also using assets within Pakistan to further this agenda.
yes NDS and RAW were definitely collaborating, hence the great relations between Ghani and Modi and why India was really investing in afghanistan in hopes the puppet regime would survive and serve their interest which was to create a 2 front scenario against Pak. Since the puppet government collapsed and all indian intelligence was forced out of Afg, enemies are trying to create a hostility between Pak and IEA, using groups like TTP. Best option is to use diplomacy and not guns because a war between both could end up deadly, even though we have the capability to severely beat the IEA due to air superiority alone, the following guerilla war done by IEA sympathizers within Pak will increase 10x more. Every few weeks we see tensions escalating between both but this time its a bit more serious considering the strikes we did.

All the mrap we got are being used for base protection this is how absurd our commanders our.
We can erect fortresses and dig tunnels around bases and stock up to fight for a month. I don't understand using something with wheels to not move our offensive forces.Perhaps these babies are fuel guzzlers and, unchecked use and endless hot pursuit ,would break the bank before the terries do.

We must engage with Taliban with strong diplomacy and tell them that TTP wants war between the two and if they are not stopped then they can lead both countries to conflict, which is not in interest of both countries.

We must be imaginative with MRAPs and other armor.Instead of using them to guard the posts endlessly, use them in offensive role to deploy commandos right on top of the terries.I don't mind the armor taking a beating if it keeps our boys safe and crushes the enemy literally.

All the shit storm on our western front is due to our refusal to think and move beyond our borders to safeguard our interests and pursue a ruthless Afghan policy. The ultimate culmination of this would be Pakistan and Afghanistan becoming some sort of a confederation with free passage both ways for people and trade, and Afghanistan becoming our strong hand not a lousy neighbour, but of course for that , a lot of boxes need to be checked.
MRAP is not armor, per se. It is a specialized troop carrier. I am all for using armor. But I am not sure if we can use it in mountainous terrain. I think experts should weigh in here.

Our obsession with security made us support Afghan Taliban instead of supporting a constitutional government in Afghanistan. Even a bad constitutional government is better than one devoid of institutions.

The crux of the problem is that Afghanistan never evolved politically. From kingship in 1973, it tottered over to Communist rule in 1977, & after 44 year civil war, it has gotten a government that has no recognizable institutions, or guided by any constitution. Even during Taliban 1.0, whims of Mullah Umer were policy. Its not going to be different now.

For your vision to bear fruit a number of things need to happen:

1. Afghans need to realize the importance of constitution democracy. Taliban's brand of Islam has no place for a constitution or democracy, or any recognizable institution apart from an advisory council. Two countries with incompatible systems can not form a confederation or any other thing along these lines. Do note that Taliban envision a situation where they occupy half of Pakistan as their own territory in name of Afghan nationalism. They also would wish to rip out all our institutions and install an emirate. So it is a matter of competing ideologies that would not coexist in one country.

2. Economic disparity would mean a flood of Afghan population into & around major population centers. In any future disagreement leading to conflict, it would effectively be check-mate for Pakistan. See #1 & extrapolate for yourself.

3. Pakistan is without the financial resources that would be required to invest into present day Afghanistan to bring it even at 70% of Pakistan. You can not have a country with great disparities. See #2 above too.

4. Pakistan struggles with managing multiple ethnicities & we'll add Uzbek, Tajik, & others without having resolved Baloch grievances. Not a good look at all.

5. We'd need to add or integrate Persian / Dari into our educational system. Persian speakers would take on superior airs in no time & we'd be wondering what to do with them?

6. Pashtun backlash will develop over time. Currently Pashtuns are the dominant ethnicity of Afghanistan. In Pakistan they would be a minority. This would not sit well with them. Over time this will develop into a litany of grievances & ultimately anti-Pakistan sentiment. Put this together with #1 & #2 and you can see where this would ultimately lead.

7. Afghans profit from smuggling. That would dry up in a single country. Moreover taxes & duties' structure that Pakistan has would not sit well. This would mean another fracture line that would not go away easily.

A confederation of Afghanistan & Pakistan is a pipe dream that I used to have too. This still might be possible, but perhaps not in my lifetime because it would require at least 2 generations worth of work. We just need to develop long term policy to deal with Afghanistan as it exists. Nothing will change in Afghanistan without a war & therefore we'll be stuck with a proud but poor neighbor for foreseeable future. If we try to educate their youth, the young people will question the power-structure & we'll be blamed for interference. Its too complicated & we can only slowly influence Afghans.

That is a consequence of really terrible decisions by some powerful & unaccountable people. PTM is not in government though. Just give them some responsibility to co-opt them & see them crumble from within because their narrative of victimhood will be no more.

@jus_chillin This thinker guy is a multi ID rat. His origin ID is Batallion.

BATALLIAAAAAAAN COME OUT!

They should have anti pakistan thoughts because of what we do to them

No they have shops and get scholarships for universities to later go abroad and then talk bad about Pakistan.

No lol we arent even Persians why would we even do that.

If Afghans wanna learn Farsi then they should go to Iran

Wdym by this

Afghans profit from smuggling. That would dry up in a single country. Moreover taxes & duties' structure that Pakistan has would not sit well. This would mean another fracture line that would not go away easily.

Can easily be solves by using Irani method to counter smuggling from Afghanistan.

You can't build confederation with people who literally see you as their Israel.
