Pakistan carries out airstrikes along AfPak border

Those who instigated Pashtun Nationalism in Pashtun population and wanted to create pashtunsitan was PTM with the backing of Afghan government and US, now they are in government.
I agree with you that optics are not good as IK was gone, SS came with US 'assistance' so air-strikes started. Nonetheless, if there is deadlock between IEA/PAK, then Pakistan has to eleminate those TTPs.
Yes, It is a game of narrative and action (surge like Panetta). If women are killed in air-stirkes then perhaps TTP will get recruitment from within Afghanistan. However, we need to nip in the bud too as we don't watc to stop them at border only.

We must be imaginative with MRAPs and other armor.Instead of using them to guard the posts endlessly, use them in offensive role to deploy commandos right on top of the terries.I don't mind the armor taking a beating if it keeps our boys safe and crushes the enemy literally.

All the shit storm on our western front is due to our refusal to think and move beyond our borders to safeguard our interests and pursue a ruthless Afghan policy. The ultimate culmination of this would be Pakistan and Afghanistan becoming some sort of a confederation with free passage both ways for people and trade, and Afghanistan becoming our strong hand not a lousy neighbour, but of course for that , a lot of boxes need to be checked.
All the mrap we got are being used for base protection this is how absurd our commanders our.

Stop talking when you know nothing.

Pashtunistan bogey is as old as Pakistan. PTM is about Pashtun nationalism, but not about Pashtunistan as supported by Sardar Daud. They accept Pakistan's constitution & wanted good relations with the late Afghan government. They are anti-Taliban & that is why you hate them.
Pashtunistan movement was created by the Soviets, it was a communist movement, it failed after the defeat of Soviet Union, it was restarted by US and Afghan government in the form of PTM to create pashtun Nationalism, they were openly saying they are Afghans and Afghani, Ashram Ghani was openly saying peshawar belong to Afghanistan, some of the Afghan government officials even said that all land till Attock belongs to them.

Problem is that airstrikes that can cause civilian deaths causes enmity between Pakistan and Taliban. We can go for a diplomatic push instead.

not just that, they were in afghanistan for a multitude of reasons. The ones I can list is supporting pashtun nationalism within Pakistan with people like Pashteen and PTM, sponsoring TTP, funding BLA and other "baloch" groups to slow the rise of CPEC and to deter investors, and also supporting Xingjian/Uyghur separatists. India was also heavily involved in these operations, there was a reason they had multiple embassies and consulates along the pak-afghan border. They were being used to fund and provide support to ttp/bla/etc.
Yes exactly, but their plans failed, now they are again using TTP and assets within Pakistan to create a war between Pakistan and Afghanistan.

Pashtunistan was Kabuli pipe dream for KPK and rest of Pashtun areas to have "fair" refernedum and to have possible independence. Daud Khan later added Balochistan with it as well.

Pashtunistan is a boogey man the movement is dead. PTM isn't even separatist either lmao they want to follow constitution.

TTP is mixed with ethnonationalism and Islamism, its why they say they want "FATA" to be independent. Because FATA being over pissed off all the Laltains and Achakzais. They don't want rest of KPK.

Otherwise you all remember how much problem PTM had become. Now that same PTM is in government.

ISPR played 5d chess against them and PTM f'd up their own movement.

Good finally we’re going after ttp.
Ttp and anyone who defends them (Taliban) should be dealt with and punished.
We’ve tried peace with Taliban but they backstabbed us. Whichever faction of Taliban supports and hosts ttp is our enemy as much as ttp.
I was and still continue to support Taliban fight against usa and nato occupation. Now they’ve freed them self from occupation and are a sovereign country. However once they’ve freed them selves from occupation, they have been attacking another Muslim sovereign state. I cannot support that and it’s unislamic.
Islam gives us the right to defend our selves and our sovereignty so Taliban and ttp should be severely dealt with.
Jets were a better option over drones imo because just the sound of fighter jets in the air would add such fear in the hearts of the enemy, they’ll remember it and think twice next time.
We should attempt peace and try to avoid war with Taliban HOWEVER we shouldn’t let that be a weakness and let them attack us. IF they support ttp and attack us then we MUST RETALIATE.
We should even consider annexing Wakhan Corridor since it’ll give us a border with Tajikistan. Wakhan Corridor has a population of only 10 000 people and it’s inhabitants are similar to wakhi people in GB. The locals of Wakhan Corridor just want food and water to survive and they’ll side with anyone. We can easily annex it without a fight since Talibs aren’t present there and we can use our helicopters to send a battalion worth of troops to annex it. We can than build roads to connect it to Pakistan and Tajikistan which will improve the life of locals many folds and make them pro pak forever.

PTM was openly saying they were Afghani and not Pakistani, they were creating a divide between Pashtuns and other ethnic groups in Pakistan. They were even inciting violence against Pakistan Army, and were attacking Pakistan Army posts. PTM was defeated because those who were backing and funding them got defeated in Afghanistan.

Hundreds of years of history suggests that no empire/army was able to capture Afghanistan, a landlocked country with limited resources.

just my 2 rupees opinion

I suppose the one benefit of the current political climate is PA can now act with absolute impunity. Perhaps PTI government had been the blocker.

There was never any block from PTI. Bajwa got to much pressure, he is just releasing it.

Remind me of Bill Clinton, Monica Lewinsky and Iraq war. Whenever republican put pressure of impeach on Bill Clinton, he bombed Iraq.

yeah, give it some time. TTP has lost its main source of direct funding and support which was through the indian embassies in afghanistan along the border, thats why they were collecting funds from local afghans. Attacks will still happen but its more of a dying breath rather a resurgence.

True, they were also funded by NDS, but you see the problem now is that our enemies want the remaining TTP to create a war between Pakistan and Afghanistan by also using assets within Pakistan to further this agenda.

Pak armed forces lost 111 jawan this year due to constant TTP attacks. A militant organization that was on its
deathbed in 2018, revived after a certain Taliban Khan came into power in Pakistan who not only wanted to give Afghani refugees pakistani nationality but also pushed for peace treaties with murderers of Pakistan children. This resulted in a dying TTP to unite and come back with a vengeance.
Good to see armed forces finally taking punitive action and protecting its citizens. Pakistan armed forces zindabad!
Not True, TTP was reorganised in Afghanistan under the Ashraf Ghani regime.

I agree with literally everything you said. A couple f-16's and j-10's roaring above the heads of taliban goons should make them look up with fear. I want them to look at the skies waiting for a TB-2 or Burraq drone strike at any given moment. We supported the TB only because they had a legitimate fight against occupiers and a foreign installed puppet government, just like how we support the cause of Kashmir and Palestine. If the TB want to bite the hands that fed them then we should cut the snake in its entirety by fully supporting anti-TB groups within afghanistan like the northern resistance.

You are also right in thinking of annexing wakhan corridor, it has immense geopolitical significance and the locals are very culturally the same to the Pakistanis near the corridor. All we need to do is provide some development, money, etc and they will easily choose to side with us compared to the hell-hole that is afghanistan and their shit government.

We need to deal with them like Iran does, deport the ungrateful refugees and pashtunistan supporters while strictly monitoring the border crossings. The world is divided into borders and the IEA must accept this, we aren't living in the 7th century with tribes and shit, its time they finally accept the international border. They seem to have no issues with the Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, and Tajikistan borders only Pakistan. I'm sure those borders also split up villagers and families of Turkmen, Uzbek, and Tajik origin but they learn to live with it. Nationalist Pashtuns are the only ones who cant comprehend to advance into the 21st century.

What a pathetic comment. Youthiyas are the worst lot in Pakistan. You have issues with military protecting its citizens now?

Absolute bakwas. Ashraf ghani has been gone for more than a year now. They have been getting active support from the likes of AT and then Taliban khan in Pakistan sending them peace doves.
These attacks are done by the remnants of TTP that was reorganised and provided safe havens by the Asraf Ghani regime.
