India's "chicken neck" is out of reach of Pakistan Army unless covert Ops are set in motion.
Definitely this scenario was only 'Pre-71' united Pakistan or as you suggest could only be set in motion thru covert ops/regional movements.
But most probably suitable for Chinese strategic planning ... !

those are boats at the end...... seems like a river crossing unit army engineers! Hmmm in sailkot , interesting

k

The boats are also used to allign the bridges so that mech forces can cross a bigger obstacle apart from other roles (as you can see in the video there are like 7+ bridges).

I remember taking a ride in one of the older ones to cross a canal back then.

Beyond Pathankot and Gurdaspur, tank friendly terrain diminishes, unless you go south towards Jalandhar.

They're very little ways to connect to Kashmir through that terrain. Remaining roads can be destroyed by cruise missiles or airstrikes. Air supplies can be shot down. 800,000+ soldiers won't last long without food and ammunition.

and mine is early 2000s.
The 2001–2002 India–Pakistan standoff was also fun yet minacious times...

I remember we dug trenches in front of grandparent's house in Lahore, and grandfather took out many weapons I didn't know he owned. That's also when I learnt how an AK-47 works.

Indians now have food and ammo dumps capable of sustaining them for almost 6 months now in Kashmir.

Let us also not forget that the other side will also be there to fight and not let us blow up every road and create a blockade putting the 6 months to test. Secondly do we have the military ammunition to actually outlast them for 6 months whilst fighting along the Radcliffe line because they will open every other front possible to relieve them.

Yeh na ho that the attackers run out of ammunition before the defenders. Frankly i like to give our think tanks at the military some credit and tell the people that if Kashmir was in any possible to retake militarily, we would have done it by now. If we havent, then that means there are factors that make such attempts impossible and i can think of some and you, yourself have highlighted several of them in numerous threads

Dear, no need to worry. Can't quote the figures, but if I do, it will surely be a pleasant surprise.

Ours is also in terms of months...... Everywhere.

Weldon, such kind of joint training for strike corp will substantially enhance tactics, cooperation and new war concepts.

Thats actually very good to hear. No matter what we look at, our military doctrine is based on defense so the defense must be ready for attrition like situations atleast to some extent and months is good.

Locating them in the valley and Jammu and blowing them up will not be an issue for the PAF. The mountainous areas will give slight issues.

Or a giant EMP attack to send the Indian armed forces back to pre WWI. It's not like Kashmiri civillians have much communication or electricity to lose nowdays anyway.

Locations of such dumps are already pinpointed because they are otherwise difficult to hide.

However, narrow valleys do restrict the application of air power since such dumps have already been sighted on available reverse slopes of mountains to deny first hand observation and targeting ....mostly facing towards east and south.

Therefore, other means have been devised to take them out.... Means devised, planned, rehearsed.... Lock, stock, barrel.

It will be pretty selective targeting from our side. We do not have these much air assets to spare.... Keeping their other responsibilities as well.

OAS, CAS, fighter sweeps, escorts, strike, CAPs, SAI missions, VA VP protection along with normal attrition and serviceability.

This means that targets will be, as always, prioritized. One target or maybe a specific combination at a time. Simultaneous air operations mentioned above may not be in our capability.

This is a bit off topic, but it's exactly why I think we should have a UCAV programme. If you don't have a man in the machine, it can go much faster, it can manouvre much more aggresively. It could be part remote controlled and part AI. Help us get a large dedicated strike wing.

... Already in the works. Operationally deployed in some sectors for strike missions as well.
