any doctors in here??

Can any doctor here can help in treating chilblains ??? the general physician says there is no such medicine :(

This is killing
The best you can do is not use cold water at all on the affected area. I get these on my feet every winter because while doing wuzoo I pour water on my feet five times a day, but when i don't pour any water on my feet, they go away.

Use petroleum jelly "Vaseline" every day especially when you wash your feet or after the bath. It is quite common with regular praying person and those who wore shoes all the time in hot climate it is directly associated with water or moisture constantly remaining between the fingers. But when you dry the area between the finger and apply Vaseline problem would be solved Personal experience.

Both Nifedipine and Diltiazem are typically administered in a pill.

Both are Calcium channel blockers, which help relax the muscle wall of arteries and lower blood pressure to promote the flow of blood, so if you've any concerns about existing low blood pressure issues, they'd be a concern.

Nifedipine can also be administered in a topical ointment if you find the pills aren't a viable option.

Regarding prescriptions, I'm afraid that's something you'd need to talk with your care provider about. Each nation's different in this respect, but I expect a prescription would be required.

Chill Burns are a blood flow problem, most often associated with cold weather where blood is remove from extremities and pool in one's core region to warm vital areas, so we always recommend warms. Have you tried hot or trauma blankets on your arms or legs?

I used them to treat shock responses, for which heat and pressures help alleviate, but they can also promote blood flow via warming one's extremities.
thank you for the information. Much appreciated. I have low blood pressure issues so have to discuss with the doc.

i can't avoid use of water as like you I have to perform wazu . usually warm water worsens the swelling in my case :( . to an extant that i hardly walk . and in my case these do not go away untill summer starts.

You have to stay away from water, if you want them to go away otherwise if they start to itch, Gosh! they will even disturb you during your sleep. This year I got these huge purplish spots on my feet and the doc said it was fungal..........Have you tried anti fungal creams? For wuzoo what you can do is wear socks and then do massah like run some wet hands over your socks.......But for people with such problems tayumum too is recommended.

I personally wouldn't recommend blood pressure medicine for chilblains. It's best to use home remedies instead, in my opinion.

Only take medicine when it's necessary or when it's prescribed by your local physician. If you get severe cases of chilblains, then visit your local doctor, otherwise you should be able to alleviate the symptoms by resorting to home remedies and changing your lifestyle/habits.

I got my medical degree in Malta four years ago. Currently planning to specialize in clinical psychiatry.

I also have OCD lol.

Studying at med school with OCD was a huge pain in the butt lol. I sometimes had to read passages at least 10 times just to make sure I actually read them properly lol. >_<

So what has worked for you so far?..For me CBT along with physical fitness worked a lot better than those nasty SSRI's.

Tell me about it I gave up on medical career because of that .

I avoid medication as much as possible. It's quite ironic, considering I'm a licensed doctor lol.

Not a fan of SSRIs. I'd only recommend them for people who have mild to severe anxiety disorders and depression. A lot of these drugs turn people into binge eaters, sadly.

I learned to embrace my OCD lol. I don't mind reading things more than one time, nor do I mind tidying up my room all the time. On the contrary, I think it's quite nice rofl.

I don't blame you. I've had similar thoughts as well. In fact, last summer, I was seriously thinking about quitting my medical career and becoming a chef. I love cooking lol.

But then I thought about how my parents would react. They'd literally kill me if they ever find out that I was thinking of changing my career.

I used to be underweight but ever since I went on medication I have gained 25 kg's more lol....After using them for more than 7 years I went cold turkey around 5 months back, but now having trouble trying to lose that massive abdominal fat. ;) Yes I agree there's an upside to OCD for me too, being a Muslim I stay away from everyone and everything that may be deemed Najis(Napak)

Speaking of medicine, I came across this really cool Android/iOS app a few days ago:

Haha, brilliant!

Did you try the Atkins diet? It can help you lose weight very quickly. But it's not a permanent solution, in my opinion.
