Young Doctors Demand Rights In Punjab

GOVT is responsible for the death of patients not DOCTORS
GOOD DOCTORS are also human beings they need good pay to earn livelihoods of life.....
when it comes to doctors why people stop thinking that they are also human beings and they have rights....
people like JANA are pathetic who does not know what is system of hospitals ...................ALMOST ALL WORK DONE IN HOSPITALSS IS BY TRAINEES AND HOUSE OFFICERS

IF TRAINEES DONT WORK IN HOSPITALS AND THEY ARE ARE MERE TRAINEES THEN WHY ALL THE HOSPITALS STOPPED WORKING
ITS MEAN MOST OF THE WORK IS DONE BYE TRAINEES

Patient ‘humiliated’ at gynae ward Services closure leads to scuffle

LAHORE, April 1: Services Hospital became a scene of pitched battle when the attendants of a patient clashed with doctors after a young health practitioner allegedly slapped and dragged her (a pregnant woman) for insisting on delivery.

The public-sector hospitals are witnessing the worst crisis these days as the doctors, led by the Young Doctors’ Association (YDA) Punjab chapter office-bearers, on Friday locked all the critical care departments – ICU-CCU, emergency, operation theatres, diagnostic and examination rooms — of the major hospitals.

Two more patients, one of them an elderly woman, died at Mayo Hospital as the doctors refused to attend them.Witnesses and sources said the YDA office-bearers and their colleagues tortured and humiliated several patients in need of immediate treatment and hurled threats at senior doctors for “trying to deliver service to the critical patients”.

Witnesses said Samia Ijaz, a resident of Islampura, was brought to Services Hospital by her husband, Muhammad Ijaz, a
factory worker, and other relatives for delivery on Friday morning. A group of doctors visited the gynaecology department to lock it for patients and asked Ijaz to take her wife to any private health facility.

The patient lying on a stretcher protested and termed the act inhuman. A furious doctor slapped her and also dragged her out of the department. This prompted Ijaz and other relatives to question the doctor’s conduct and the two groups scuffled.

Amir Ali and Ashiq Husain, the two relatives of the patient, suffered minor injuries as the doctors led by YDA Punjab President Dr Hamid Butt outnumbered the visitors.

According to the witnesses, the patient’s relatives scuffled with the doctors when they tried to lock her in an office of the hospital administration for not leaving the department. No one came to the rescue of the family which was left with no option but to take the patient back.

Moving scenes were witnessed at Children’s, Lahore General and Mayo hospitals and other health facilities, where doctors reportedly turned violent and attacked the patients, their attendants and even some on-duty colleagues deputed by the respective administrations for the treatment of the critical patients.

Green Town resident Muhammad Siddique first took her elderly relative, Nooran Bibi, to Jinnah Hospital where the doctors refused to attend her and later shifted her to Services Hospital but met a similar treatment.

He took the patient to Mayo Hospital the emergency ward of which was occupied by the doctors. She breathed her last outside the emergency department. A critically-injured man brought by the Rescue 1122 ambulance from Shahdara at Mayo Hospital’s emergency died unattended.

Several patients were seen lying on floors, green belts and stretchers outside emergency departments of the hospitals. The hapless administrations could do nothing for the ailing for fear of the young doctors’ wrath.

YDA office-bearer Dr Abu Bakr Gondal held the Punjab chief minister responsible for the suffering of the poor patients. He said the doctors had started submitting their resignations as a last resort. More than 800 doctors from city’s major hospitals have submitted their resignations.

He said the CM had refused to meet the YDA delegation on Thursday night despite the fact that his senior adviser, Sardar Zulfiqar Khosa, had promised to arrange a meeting with him.

The YDA, he said, withdrew all kinds of healthcare services in protest.

Patient

These people should be dragged to court for these criminal acts and murders of innocent people.

It's about time you used the ignore user option.

Some people will keep posting news items, selectively and with great bias highlighting lines that reflect what they wish was the viewpoint. They'll cuss and use slang words, no point going down to their level. These people have no sense of right or wrong. No point arguing with them. Any attempts at Cognitive Behavioural Therapy are wasted here.

Ya allah....what is happening in pakistan? This is heartbreaking. Here in india doctors call strike rarely, but even if they do...they dont become animals.

what is the PAY of PG trainee in INDIA?

@ Mech: if you get paid 12,000 rupees after doing 5 years of medicine and one year of house job, more than 70 per cent goes in transport, and you just have less than 5000 rupees left... you can either buy food or fend for your family. in both cases not enough.

doctors are mistreated in pakistan. they are simple paying back in kind because they've been pushed to the limit. every single one of them regrets the loss of life, all the govt has to do is agree and treat them as humans. it's the govt's fault.

unfortunate but its the fact. putting forward one's demands is one thing and killing people is altogether a different thing.

the scenes at hospitals are more heart wrenching mothers of dead children are wailing but vested elements are determined to resort to uncivilized ways

Why dont you post some Un-selective news instead of misusing your mod powers because you are either one or the medical practitioners or sympathizer of theirs

the entire scenes of wailing mothers having their dead kids in laps and elderly suffering shown on TVs are fake ??? and you are right?

lets come up with some unselective news which proves that over 100 people did not die in these few days due to doctors' brutality

People sitting in Peshawar giving accounts of disturbing scenes in the Punjab!

A bit too late, what about the coverage before the disturbing scenes and the police viciously attacking a peaceful procession. But of course there is no substitute for sensationalist journalism.

Objective journalism given one big kick in the backside!

If I wanted to use, let alone misuse my mod powers, i would have given you an infraction a long time back for being in insulting to other members on this thread and using cuss word despite no provocation. These people have been extremely nice to you still with the kind of words you have used here.

Media is bigoted in its coverage, and is not representing the true story from the start. The topic here by the thread starter was to highlight the grievances of the young doctors, not make this into the slugfest, which you have turned it into.

we dont want to leave the emergencies we dont want that our patients suffer we dont want to increase the miseries of our poor people BUT WE ARE FORCED BY THE GOVT TO DO THIS
