after every blunder army missed civilian gov so much . as bhutto was hanged with civilian gov permission . pakistan joined WOT with civilian approval and fall of Dhaka was also under civilians . whole year army is on driving seat and gen.raheel ki jaay ho but when its time for action now civilian gov should react . ok next time nawaz will fly a CAP mission and shot down any drone flying over pakistan .

Even for men in uniform it is difficult to accept the silenceof our superiors. But the fault lies not only with us but also with the people. What can we do if our nation does not have the balls to stand up. Take a look at DAWN, Express Tribune, Jang etc all are pessimistic regardingthis incident and instead of blaming the government which is the people's representative it has been ranting about how military displayed a pathetic show. We as servants of the people and this country can say or do nothing with out government consent. But it seems our higher ups are keeping quite. I have faith in them and due time it will turn out to be the best. We have to take with a pinch of salt.

1.) Why do we take official statements from any government, including the US govt (which has a history of fabricating / twisting stories), at face value? "Never believe anything in politics until it has been officially denied."

2.) The argument that the Army cannot say anything because the Army is apparently under the control of the elected govt is absurd --- please --- nobody here is a child. DG Tweeter rants off about a lot of stuff that doesn't seem to be government-sanctioned, but is quiet when a missile fired by another nation has killed someone extrajudicially in our territory --- which I believe the Army is paid and expected to protect.

3.) It doesn't matter if the victim was Mullah Mansoor or Mullah Gandalf --- like other members have noted, what if the next target is you or a family member? What if it's in Lahore Cantt, for example, or even inside GHQ? Will the good PR General remain silent? What if it was an Indian missile?

4.) The argument that we cannot confront the US is also misguided. It is possible to deal with the US by effectively manipulating the leverage available in the relationship (currently monopolised by the US), but it requires exceptional skill, courage and the best brains working on the most complex problems.

5.) The sad reality is that our entire leadership cadre across institutions is appearing spineless and devoid of any innovative applications of statecraft. Most individuals in power (military and civilian) seem to have/want property in the West and also want their kids to go to the best universities in the US and UK --- therefore they logically (and unfortunately) cannot be expected to take too much of a stand against the very places they plan to park assets.

Hellfire missile have a range of 8 km. There isn't a need for a drone to be flying really close to the target to destroy it.

North Korea is one of the most heavily sanctioned nations on Earth.

Iran also experienced some heavy sanctions. The two have even traded punches before (Operation Praying Mantis) and the results were not good for Iran.

then why spending 8bn$ on defence janab ? jab yehi jawab sunny hain to fazool main pesy kiyoo lagay ? why not spend this huge amount somewhere better ?
