Wipe out BJP? I love how you guys try to use your simplistic views on Indian elections. BJP won all 7 seats in the general elections in Delhi just a few months ago. The same voters now gave AAP a clear majority. What does that tell you? I bet if you do a re-election for the national poll BJP would win from Delhi again.

Same voters gave BJP 7 out of 7 seats in Delhi Parliamentary elections just few months back who won all seats by a whooping margin and here Kejriwal in assembly elections with same margin. Do you know what that means? It means that Delhites want BJP to take care of Centre and AAP to run state. Two different things for 2 different parties.

He will blame central govt for any law & order or woman safety issues! First & foremost he will get on to the street demanding Delhi police be brought under state's jurisdiction. This is on top of his to do list! Expect dharnas within next few days!

I don't think that Delhi police should come under the state, the Capital's security should be left to the Center. If they want some changes then put forth amendments that the center can look over, instead of doing these useless dharnas .

Beauty of Indian democracy, not like one party chinese or 2 party american system. Here any one can rise and can rise to top.Example MP modi and CM kejriwal.Election over, blame game over its time to deliver.Best of luck Kejriwal (from a right wing hindu nationalist sanghi Indian).

Its just a general question I am trying to understand after this party's recent victory in Delhi's election. Thanks in advance for your valuable response :-)

I dont.... I think his brand of politics is traditional Indian National Congress Politics of the early 30's and 40's. He represents what Indian national congress forgot over the last 6 decades.

We as Indians need to stop being Fan Boys for leaders and instead look at the issues both macro and mirco in nature.

Arvind Kejriwal and AAP has been given a massive mandate, and I am hopefull that he will deliver. There should be two distinct wings of AAP, one led by Arvind and his team that absolutely focuses on Delhi and another that start cadre building in rest of country...

My assessment at this time is that the "concept of AAP" will replace Congress as the primary opposition in next two decades.

That's a very tricky subject. Even when Congress was in power both at state & center.. they too had issues with each other when it came to controlling the police. Delhi police would always want to come under Central's control.. so that they can yield more clout at the corridors of power. However.. state govt does need to have some say too. Maybe day to day law & order issues could be handed over to the state govt.. & bring certain section of the police force under state control! You can't have whole state police over-riding the stat authorities!

I am no AAP fan however his situation is like Modi in center...thumping victories are great however with them comes the burden of huge aspirations complemented with lot of impatience...so if they get into Dharnas they will loose voters forever...same with Modi...if he fails in fulfilling indian economic story then death sentence for his political career...

Interesting days ahead!!...lets respect the mandate and as patriot Indians lets wish AAP best of luck...i hope they honestly improve the condition of delhi..if .they manage to do that i can bet it would start alarming bells in all those good for nothing parties...

Too early to quote such a massive thing...plz remember first they will have to perform...it took Modi 15 years to work in Gujarat before he was able to make a mass appeal and lets not forget he had the backing of an established party...1 out of 50 people voted for AAP whereas 10 out of 50 for congress in an election where there was unprecedented anger against Congress....and that too when magic man from Gujarat had caught the imagination of youth...Congress is the grand old party and i am sure they will survive these onslaughts...though being a congress hater i might not like it however for the sake of healthy democracy we need all the parties to stay relevant...

As you yourself stated it is tricky subject. 10 years of UPA rule when both center and state had same party in power and yet no consensus on delhi statehood perhaps tells you that this issue is complicated...Delhi is national capital and thus we can't play with its security tag...i would rather have the entire police under state instead of sharing responsibilities...bcoz when it comes to sharing there is no accountability...each side looks at other and blame game is the usual mantra...

The only worry i have with AAP is that they should not end up bringing back the same subsidy bull sh1t...Congress has done this for 6 decades and the entire focus had been on freebies instead of job creation...there is only one way to kill poverty and that is economic independence...

He shouldn't have an issue running the govt as he has virtually no opposition. He can bring in all those legislation he wanted to bring last time around.. & get it passed virtually unopposed. Lack of support for Janlokpal was the reason why he demitted the office. He should have no excuse this time around.. should pass the bill on his very first session.

Will he do it? Let's wait & see if his intentions are noble!
