There are other things like free electricity and free water delivered by the world's largest irrigation system called The Great Man Made River which had thousands of kilometers of concrete pipelines delivering ancient fresh water from under the desert sands to the cities.
My concern is that - what industry Libya managed to develop despite Oil wealth? Did they become hub of science and technology? Did they become a manufacturing powerhouse? Did they built good and world class universities? Did they produced magnificent patents? No, all they did was using Oil wealth, that's all. That can't be the standard of development.
And Libya's wealth and influence was not only supporting Libyans but was also supporting liberation movements across the world, like the FARC of Columbia and IRA in Britain. Libya, actually Gaddafi, had the idea of creating a United States of Africa. There was some progress towards creating a common fund bank for Africa and a new currency called Gold Dinar for all Muslim-majority countries.
You see the Libyan wealth was a direct result of Oil export and only Oil exports, what else did they exported other than oil? There's not much to be replicated or followed by a non-oil rich country. Supporting revolutions is a old and continuing technique to solidify international support, even Israel supports Kurds against Turks, Iraqis, Azerbaijani against Iran etc. That says nothing about your own country's model.
The Libyan Jamahiriya was a Direct Democracy Socialism system in which there was no President or Prime Minister
That's a farce, Gaddafi was effectively the head of state, he had all the control over economic, diplomatic and military resources of Libya. He killed dissidents with his orders.
That Chinese guy is doing historical revisionism only.
There are a quite a few reasons why NATO wanted Gaddafi removed and the Jamahiriya destroyed. Oil is not the main issue.
The reasons maybe political like not aligning with US, supporting rebels in ally countries but Jamhirriya had nothing for non-oil exporting countries, Heck even oil rich gulf is doing fine, even they don't need Jamhiriya after all.

@Nilgiri I did not understand your cryptic warning/caution. by any chance is this what you meant?

Sort of. Depends if they start the report/insinuation spam on you pleading for aid of some in higher station here...and that mess takes some getting used to for dealing with.

They seem to have retreated for now though (at least with me)...so I think you are fine. Just no telling what it triggers sometimes though.

Hi guys.

I have a question regarding a corrupt branch of Pakistan Army and its officer in it. I believe its called MLC, i could be wrong. But its where they acquire land for the officer housings and for other purposes.

My mother bought a plot along with two of my aunts near Gulistan-e- Jauhar, Karachi (near a railway line) some time ago. Now the army is claiming the land belongs to them which isn't true.

They did the same thing with both of my aunts in order to get some "rishwat" out of them but they took it to the court and won. They both have houses built over there now.

Our plot is in the same street and we have a case in court for the last three and a half years now. One of their lawyers doesn't show up each time and the case gets stalled. Our courts are also corrupt that instead of just making a decision based on constant "no show" they keep adding more dates. We don't live in Pakistan so we have to ask our uncle to go each time.

One of my cousin's colleague knows someone higher up in the army, he talked to them and guess what their response was...."if you brings us a large sum of money that we can also distribute it to higher ups, we will provide you with NOC." They also said that we would have to close the court case and basically accept defeat!

I don't give a **** about money, i sent 5 lakh for zakat in the neighborhood we used to live in (landhi) just now. Us overseas pakistani feed these haram khors and this is how they treat us. I will not give them a fucking cent.

Does anyone know where i can file a formal complaint agaisnt them?

Thanks in advance.

@newb3e can probably help you maybe.

same shit happened to my land lord he had 10 acres land in outskirts of karachi and then retired army major occupied the land but that guy was financially strong he went to the court and after fighting the case for 3-4 years courts ordered army guy to give him back the land or give him land of same value in karachi and court will supervise all the procedure of land transfer and few months back he finally go 10 acres in same area!

our army has this issue and because of this corruption they protect ahole politicians and then the whole system gets fked up!

Nawaz Sharif owns (and should own) every decision made during his government, just like Imran Khan owns (and should own) every decision made during his government.

I know it sounds simplistic, but that is how I view it. If you're going to run for, and win, the highest elected office in the land, have the courage and values to take responsibility for what happens under your watch .... or just resign.
Thats what Democracy is. Opposition forced PMLN to take the issue to the parliament. Our Liberal Brigade was highly against such act. Tow Major sects Shia and Barelvis were against such decision too.
Deobandi and Ahle Hadith However were in support of it.
