What happens in case of an attack on the four Indian metros?

So I've been a lurker for a while, and a question struck me recently, so I signed up.

So I was wondering what would happen incase of a hypothetical attack on any of the four Indian metro cities, viz., Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata and Chennai.

If any of these cities was attacked by a foreign military force, from where would the Indian resistance come? And what kind of hardware and troops would we be able to send?

As china won't attack for the obvious reasons that too deep inside India, Only 2 types of attacks possible:

1.) Terrorist attack from pakistan = The world will further isolate pakistan and it will be ridiculed and pro pakistan manmohan singh have to allow RAW to take revenge on larger scale + surgical strike to ease the public pressure on govt. of India

2. Direct attack by pakistani military = The war will end in few days with India wining and USA will support India as a victim of unnecessary aggression and they need us even at the expense of targeting pakistan directly. THey even supports India on port chabahar in Iran. USA will act from Arabian sea, gulf and Afghanistan and take air strikes.

I dont thing the action is nothing...if anything the RAW and MI has gotten more active...RAW has be removed from its leash .. the results even though not pleasant is there

Simple. The government declares national emergency and war preparations commence.

OR

If that doesn't happen, the ruling government gets toppled by the people and fresh elections happen amidst the preparation for war.

In UPA's case, the second scenario is more likely if (Heavens forbid) something like this is even attempted.
