What about MIG-35 jets to Bangladesh

Bangladesh does not need to have a strong air command. Whats the threat? If china wants to sell junks like j-10 to it citing Indian threat the it better have a re-look.India is about to cede enclave territories to Hasina and also provide transit and credit line of billion dollars.Duties on many BD products are being abolished.Thats not the action of a "threat". If there is problem with Myanmar about that chittagong issue thats different--MiG 35 would be too strong a deterrent .

Are you guys gone insane!!!....Mig-35 and BD...?!? :cheesy: A realistic level of speculation should be maintained for God sake....

Come on BD members, lets all take a 'dive of hope' under Arctic ocean and find treasures to finance the maintenance cost....:P

Cheers!!!
Having a vague affection for your country is not enough, you need to be ambitious for it. Why do you people let down your country so much? Whether you have the money or not is irrelevant, but the way you put it almost makes it sound like you don't have the potential. It's not just your post but many many posts of others I have noticed that while few Indians express negative sentiments about Bangladesh, some really sarcastic comments come from bangladeshi members themselves.

What would you understand about Bangladesh defense ? Your post speaks volume. Its a little more complicated than you think it actually is.

Don't know why Bangladeshi members are not optimistic.Come on guys be optimistic.Maybe in Future you may even buy F35 ;).

Between you and Bangladesh they have a real shot. They aren't frittering away their years in internal turbulence and are positioning themselves rather strong on the trade front. The turnining point of subcontinent's history? Bangladesh GDP Crossing Pak GDP? Not as unimaginable as it was before. Just check the nos.

As you wrote down the bolded part....i am sure you also understood the intention of my post....

However, being real is a different case than being 'vaguely affectionate'....we have the potential....YES, only if you mean in terms of quality of pilots, or the ability to use them at times of conflict....

Whether you have the money or not is irrelevant

Yes, it is relevant....it always has been, especially when we talk about a cash-trapped force like BAF....

And i am sure you can differentiate my post from other members' posts....not everyones ideology is same....

Cheers!!!

of course I understand that u don't mean ill to your country and that ur intentions are better than the others. But your diffidence is so easily seen. Why 'quality of pilots' only? You aren't THAT small a country. Nor are you a dumb people. Just go for it with everything you've got. You NEED to hhave that attitude if you want to move forward. And after a time u'll realize that it's true.

The writing in the wall is that PAK's bearings of mighty Empire's sins would downgrade it further, perhaps having an economy that is lesser in dollar figure than BD's one but how does it translate a turning point of history? What leverage does an economic might earn without having strong defensive back up? Economic power comes and goes but what cherishes is might, stronger forces. Being a vessel state, RAWAMY rapist's exploitation of BD's land and labor could earn itself a Singaporean state/economy's alike but that wouldn't be akin to a GOD fearing/mighty entity.

Now coming to the core, MIG-35 doesn't fall in BAF'S buying list for a single reason, which is enemy IND has a lot of SMTs. What BD needs is a very agile, shiftable, superior in sensor, radar, avionics, low RCS and very short take's off A/C. JF-35 falls in that category but that's like 'Sera Kathay Shoye Rajar Meye Biye Korar Sapner Moto' The next alternative is Grippen that possibility gets ruled out due to the price and logistics. What remains is JF-17/FC-1 that needs to be customized according to above basics. It serves our purpose since its low cost, handiness and SINOS reliable track record with us thus our votes should go for it.

leaving indian trollers aside, i think the topic is perhaps debatable. and I am agreed with M_Saint, perfectly explained.

And what are the great accomplishments of this 'mighty' nation? An imaginary enemy, a state unfocussed on core prosperity of it's people and losing all wars in it's history despite it's 'might' and extensive turbulence in public life. And you think a 'singaporean economy' is a mean accomplishment? A state that gives propserity to it's people an easy task? A truly VIABLE and MEANINGFUL state that never has to question it's existance and capable of enjoying long stretches of peace to focus on it's society a simple accomplishment?

Look around you and count the number of countries who can say that...especially the new ones.
You think moving ahead economically won't have an impact? You don't understand how prejuidice works do you?

Major question is why do Bangladesh need such Advanced Fighter Jet?

There are known knowns. These are things we know that we know. There are known unknowns. That is to say, there are things that we know we don't know. But there are also unknown unknowns. There are things we don't know we don't know.
