I never said that, I just wanted to say it was a formidable aircraft of its era, but it became useless and painful due to prolonged usage beyond is life due to delay in replacement.

history is history. The MiG-21 was formidable aircraft in the 1960s and 1970s. Like it or not Indians won a war in 1971 using MiG-21

In the Western theatre, last airbattle of 1971 War was between a Korean era humble Sabre and the so called tormentor, with the MiG going down in flames and its pilot taken POW.(see below).
In the East, the IAF using MIG-21s amongst others to attack Dacca airfield for two weeks continously failed to destroy even one of the 11 grounded PAF Sabres but in process IAF lost 17 aircraft to Pak army ground fire.
In IAF service, the Tormentor was actually a own widow maker.

One dogfight does not make a victory. Just because a Mustang shot down a Me262 does not make it a better aircraft. The Indian Air Force won the air war. India won the war militarily and politically.
The actual war (if you want it call it that way) was over in less than 2 weeks

You couldn't possibly believe Mig-21 was major contributor to the war in E. Pakistan...

It wasn't the 200K indian invasion force
It wasn't the Mukhti Bhani
It wasn't the IN blockading E. Pakistan
It wasn't the non exiting PN
It wasn't the PA only fielding two 2 infinitary divisions
It wasn't the PAF only operating half a squadron of Korean War vintage F-86, which were later grounded
It wasn't the PA cut off from home base and with no supply lines
It wasn't the hostile population

Yeah but a platform that managed to shoot down two enemy aircraft while losing one of it's own to a vintage F-86 was a major factor?

No wonder, you lot are the biggest willfully ill-informed populace in the world.

For the record Mig-21 was known as the flying coffin within the IAF and if anything was a tormentor of IAF widows and orphans.
