Vikramaditya aircraft carrier to Start Sea Trials in May

Vikramaditya has been costly because you have no other choice by accept the blackmail. And the money you paid is not for 'the latest tech' but for refurbish/rebuild Russian ship building industry.

Remember Russia do not have the tech and facility to build an AC like this from the beginning. Almost all the Soviet Naval industries are in Ukraine. Now the Russians are happy and you can pretend to be happy too.

Keep it up...It will be good to satisfy your ego.

Ok, Mr Einstein will now tell all of us what the latest tech in Air craft Carriers..

We all are eager to know.

The problem is not with that guy but common to almost all members of that region. Just ask them how is their AWACS/RADAR/Avionics better/at par with western countries and the reply will be lack of toilets. ie. Zilch technical knowledge and just full on uppity..

Here's another one, Superstructure is massive!

I would have been happier if they had reconstructed this massive island. IMO that is taking a lot of space on the deck. This was actually a missile control room, but Vikramaditya is no more required to fire those kind of missiles. we could have workd on it.

that was the aim to posting this images
Just Wow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A BIG thank you for that.:)

Yes and lead to more delays? I think the Vikramditya will do just fine for now (to project power, increase the size of the IN's aviation arm fast jet pilots and learn valuable and lasting lessons for operating high-spec, high performance heavy fighters off ACCs on the high seas) until later by the end of this decade when bigger, more advanced and more capable IN ACCs will be deployed.

That's what I thought as well, it would have freed more space on deck for additional aircrafts. For the size of the carrier, it handles not many aircrafts, but for the limited roles of sea control mainly, the carrier will be suitable enough.

The sole purpose of this carrier is to protect sea lanes and do some friendly visits. Its role will be much like the Virat patroling gulf of aden and hurmutz. but this will definitely need escort. Sancho if you remember we have already called it a white elephant. The real capability will come from IAC 1.

Yes, I will agree with that. Projecting power may be in Indian ocean but not much. Training pilots will be the best thing it has to offer.

Any idea is we are going fit Barak II on this one. or Shitl?

Varyag is the sucessor generation of the Soviet carriers compared to the Admiral Gorshkov, so there is nothing wrong to say it is superior compared to its predecessor generation.
But now the situation is different after major refitting the acc is much better than varyag .

Vikramaditya is just an old woman with new plastic surgery. Underneath it still looks like this. Just scratch the surface.
