Market opportunities for the sale of Indonesian aircraft and helicopter products in Vietnam are increasingly wide open. As stated by Luong Thi Xuan, Director of GK WINTRON, who will hold the Vietnam International Aviation Exhibition (VIAE) 2019 on November 26-28, 2019 in Ho Chi Minh City.

Luong Thi Xuan explained that Vietnam is currently planning to build 23 new airports and needed many additional aircraft with ground equipment and personnel.

"Indonesia as a close friend of Vietnam is expected to take advantage of this collaboration opportunity," Luong said at a press conference session on Monday (8/12/2019), in Ho Chi Minh City. Later in 2019 VIAE PT Dirgantara Indonesia (PTDI) will be an honored guest.

The Indonesian Consul General in Ho Ci Minh City, Hanif Salim, said he was happy and proud of the trust given to PTDI as the guest of honor, after in 2018 successfully selling 3 NC212i aircraft to the Vietnam Air Force.

"This shows Vietnam's trust in PTDI as a world-class industrial company and for Indonesia as a friend and strategic partner in ASEAN," Hanif Salim said.

Furthermore, Consul General Hanif Salim hopes that participation in VIAE 2019 can approve PTDI's brand image in an effort to discuss the markets in Vietnam and the ASEAN region.

"Sales of strategic products such as planes and helicopters will support the Indonesia-Vietnam trade target of $ 10 billion by 2023," he added.

For information on trade volume between Indonesia and Vietnam in 2018, a very significant increase of 30% to $ 8.45 billion from $ 6 billion in 2017.

Meanwhile, as an invited guest of honor, PTDI sent R. Krisnan, Acting Manager of PTDI Business Development to prepare PTDI's participation in the 2019 VIAE.

Previously, R. Krisnan who was also accompanied by Heber Panjaitan, PTDI Helicopter and Aircraft Business Development Staff had coordinated with the company to explore selling PTDI products in Vietnam.

Super puma family, bell 412, Fennec, dauphin/panther all under license.

There is plan to designing our own helicopter but Financial constrain become the largest barrier to do so

Good job. Do you manufacture the engine by yourself? Real manufacturing, not just assembly like India?

Vietnam has one factory by Hanhwa (near Hanoi) which "manufacture" aircraft engine, but we all know it just assemble imported parts.

no, there is no aircraft engine manufacturing in Indonesia.

Still very good advancement. I believe Indonesia will master the skill in near future.

Well hope so. Just securing license production for general electric ct 7 family is enough. They can cover Blackhawk, Apache, CN235 and other

But you don’t sell too many aircraft to customers. Too expensive - too low production volumes - too time intensive. Many too‘s. You should move aircraft manufacturing to Vietnam. we will lower the costs to a level like making shoes.

We will.
I thought you want to increase trades between our nations? Why not copy how we do in the case with China?
VN/CN trades were $150 billion in 2018. we are approaching $200 billion. The more factories move to Vietnam the more trades between us. Win win.

Ok you can build some stuffs but you will never get rich. Or do you believe chinese get rich by selling cars to the US? Pls tag me if you see chinese cars in America.

Most high priced items chinese export to the US are products made in foreign owned factories. The rest are plastics toys, garments, underwear, household toys etc made by chinese factory owners. Donald Trump starts the trade war because he thinks Vietnam can replace half of chinese export items.
