US 'may ease' export restrictions against Myanmar and Vietnam

Here's the catch. When you start using US technology, you're still not safe from their spy program. In fact, they can even disable your jet from the sky. Start developing your own weapon and technology. Stop being so dependent.

F-35 is garbage without the F-22 but you're still relying on American technology. Build our own is safer.

Why pay for something retarded amount of money when those money can be spent within the country to promote jobs and standard of living? Not only the technology will become obsolete in the future but also it is built by another country that consistently monitors its allies to gather information.
I agree with you on everything about how Vietnam should develop its own technology but it seems like the government would rather invest in tourist sites and casinos rather than technology.

They are inviting western influence to the country. More bad than good in the future. In the end, the whole world will unit to one country and one currency.

The problem is that you have to learn how to build your own Mig-21 first.

They have experience in building WW2 era carriers which only carry piston engine and not jet fighters. Even some third world countries have the capability to build those carriers.

As your argument, China doesn't need to protest the Japan rule revision to allow Japan export their weapon ...
As your belief, Japan weapon cannot compete China made, both price and technology aspect ...

I'm sure no one want to buy this kind of carrier ( even its lifetime could be longer than renewal carrier), and Japan cannot move forward to build another with equal advanced technology as Liaoning ...

For small demand, buying better than building

Except USA, who has now commissioned more than 2 carriers so far?

China could get a little Soviet knowledge from Ukraine ... but for carrier, Russia is several decades behind the USA ...
Is it a US style copy ?
Actually, we and you watch this during several decades on Discovery Channel ..
Some articles said that it must be so shame for 1 of BIG FOUR has no carrier commissioned, so China must buy or build their own carrier by all price. Until now still not have.

They are but I do agree on that, Vietnam on its own cannot match American technology for the next 100 years, I think its better to be able to acquire the technology first then worry about its side effect later than to not have it at all.

We protest for strategic value and has nothing to do with fear of competition. If we don't fear America, you think we fear Japan? Give me a break. If the US didn't aid or transfer any of their tech to Japan, you think Japan can stand a chance? Also it is not just about having the blueprint to build, you will also need an established shipping industry, facilities, and a lot of skill labors to manage and build these giant floating city. Understand, my friend?

I think you are wrong, if the US didn't keep Japan stayed ... They invaded China again !!!

You do realize invading us again means the end of Japanese civilization, right?

That's a long time, right now What U.S weapons export to Vietnam? What U.S deal signed ?

developing fighter jets is not a piece of cake. we need technology transfer and cooperations from other advanced countries. The problem begins with which country will want to support Vietnam. I see none at the moment.

correct. Vietnam needs to start virtually from Zero in building jets. MIG-21 is a good model fighter.

If Viet Nam has the will and the cash then it is possible to produce a 4th generation jet under license. However, in order to do this Viet Nam will need to spend big at least $10 billion usd like the Rafael deal between India and France in order to obtain the license/blue print/technician help. Viet Nam also has to spend more to purchase the CNC machineries to fabricate the parts of the airframe. The initial cost of the project will be HUGE for a country like Viet Nam but If Viet Nam is willing to spend that kind of money, I don't think we would have problem obtaining tech transfer/licensing from Sweden, France, Russia.

Fighter jet is too far fetched. It is more realistics in the next 5-10 years for Viet Nam to focus on continuing the R&D of MALE UAV, radar, missile, and building surface combatant. Projects like these are more realistic
