That might be the case soon enough Camelguy. With any hope this latest round of escalation will finally result in the bout that ends this 40 year long rivalry.

Although given what Iran has been saying to the Americans through the Swiss, that is exactly what they plan on doing. Historically speaking, tensions have never been this high and to add onto that, no two-nations in the past have gone this far without eventually leading to a full-blown conflict.

Unfortunately the battlefield will span quite a bit of the Middle East as a whole depending on how far the U.S. and its cronies are willing to go. If they wanna truly get rid of Iran and its allies then the war would have to go full-tilt in Syria, Iraq, Yemen, Iran and Lebanon.

What the outcome of such a conflict would be is anyones guess currently. Jingoism aside, such an event is horrifying for all involved but with each passing hour it seems this is an inevitability.

Any major escalation would be more likely towards Iraq, changing the government in Baghdad as there is currently a political struggle between some figures, some that lean towards the US some that learn to Iran.
