I'm guessing they will be released to their respective governments. Who probably are going to set them free.

So they got the US guy out alive before the inevitable.

Think about the past drone attacks that has angered Pakistan that forced the U.S. to reduced the amount of drone attacks. Not because they shot any of them down, but angering Pakistan. If they had sent SF into Pakistan and killing his captors and possibly civilians in the process, usually family members of the Taliban. You can imagine how the pro-Taliban would react. They would have point out the Pakistani govt. allowed this to happen again with approval just like drone attacks. Could even lead to the collapse of the govt. and possible takeover by the Taliban which was their dream/objective all along.

Well we can detect aircrafts we have the modern radar systems.
A helicopter is easier to detect when ground forces are more alert and ready and after Abtabad incident we are ready and alert ,infect desperate I should say.

Areas held by the TTP. To clear them out the PA has been using artillery. This would not have been necessary if entire Waziristan was under army control. There are even parts of Balochistan where there is no Army.

These areas are generally termed as the 'badlands' of Pakistan where there is no administration worth the name and where terrorists of various factions have a free run and rule the roost.

The same goes with some areas controlled by the Naxals in India. Yes, Badlands!!!
