UK: 3 Sikhs convicted of attacking Lt General Kuldip Singh Brar

. .
I love how the topic is about some sikhs slashing some Indian generals throat and all indians can talk about is Pakistanis in the UK.

Anyways most Sikhs outside of India tend to be anti-India from what I've noticed.

The Khalistan movement is dead. The members of my family who are Sikh dont care about the movement, just like 95%+ of all Sikhs who dont care.

The movement lost all legitimacy after Air India which was full of innocent Indians (including Sikhs) was blown up by Canadian based Khalistanis. The vast majority of people calling for Khalistan are expats living in places like Canada who sue the cause to fatten their bank accounts while they sit comfortably half way around the world talking about how evil India is.

As for Pakistanis, if you care so much about Sikhs, then why are innocent Sikhs targeted and murdered in Kashmir by the terrorists armed funded and trained by the Pakistani government?

This 78 year old is Sikh. BTW, do you call fighting against taliban heinous act or you are a terrorist sympathiser only when terrorists are out of your country?

The one holed up in a holy place armed with heavy weaponry, yes. The one cracking down own them, executing the writ, no.
Sikhs were on both the sides, depends on which one you are talking about.

And you know what I meant, if I am mistaken, then I apologise.

UK: 3 Sikhs convicted of attacking Lt General Kuldip Singh Brar

London: Three members of a Sikh gang, including a woman, were on Wednesday convicted of slashing the throat of Lt Gen (retd) Kuldip Singh Brar, the hero of the 1984 Operation Blue Star, in London in 2012. Brar, 78, was attacked as he walked with his wife Meena, in Old Quebec Street, central London, on September 30, 2012.

Mandeep Singh Sandhu, 34, of Birmingham and Dilbag Singh, 37, Harjit Kaur, 39, of London were convicted of wounding with intent at Southwark Crown Court.

Barjinder Singh Sangha, 33, of Wolverhampton, had admitted the charge. The jury of nine women and two men took just an hour to convict the trio. Lt Gen Brar was involved in a controversial military operation - Operation Blue Star - against Sikh militants in Amritsar in June 1984.

The victim's role in the Indian Army had "made him a target for Sikh extremist groups", the jury heard. Following the verdict, Mari Reid, of the Crown Prosecution Service said: "The group clearly targeted Lieutenant General Brar in revenge for his actions during his military career and today's convictions are another reminder that the UK will not tolerate extremism of any kind."

The couple was on its way from their hotel for a night in the West End when the attack happened. Kaur was described as being key to the ambush. She boarded the same bus as the former soldier and his wife of 28 years in order to follow their movements and phone through reports to the alleged attackers who were waiting. Sangha "drew a knife as the other men held the victim", the jury heard.

Brar was left with a 12 inch cut running across his neck and jaw and another three inch cut to the jaw. The trio, along with Singh Sangha, will be sentenced on September 19, BBC reported.

Your statement is just as bad as the one referring to UK Muslims as being potential terrorists.
If such blanket criticisms are being made, accusations actually, perhaps you could direct me to a study that will vindicate the comments made both about the Muslims in the UK(potential terrorists) and about the Sikhs worldwide being anti India. Dozens of Sikhs hold key positions in the government and armed forces of India. As an aside, I have Pakistani Muslim friends in the UK and they are a decent lot. Using your measure of judgement ergo, all Pakistani Muslims in the UK are fine upstanding citizens.
Please don't add to the racial/religious intolerance that exists everywhere. We have enough problems.
