They were given a choice by jinnah but their dumb leaders chose India or freedom over joining pakistan

Yes, & due to that, they can no longer claim the Pakistani portion of Punjab for an independent Khalistan. They only have claims on the Indian portion since their very own leaders gave up the Pakistani side once they decided to stay with Hindus.

This is something those pro Hindutva Indians must understand when it comes to Khalistan. Sikhs have no claims and cannot have any such claim of Pakistan's Punjab.

.
They can create a Khalistan in Toronto who gives a damn? Pakistanis seem more enthusiastic about creation of Khalistan than Sikhs themselves .

Both of you are right in your assertions. Identities related to Race / Occupation / Ethnicity / Linguistics overlap so much that its impossible to say anything either way. My understanding was that Jat (pronounced Jaat, with a strong 'T') is nothing but the Hindi word for caste, which is Jaat (pronounced with a soft 'T'). The theory being that when Indo Scythians settled in the Punjab plains and took on the role of agriculturists, they realised that they didn't fit into the Indo Aryan caste system. Remember that Indo Aryans were nomads before settling in India and did not have an agricultural caste. Large land owners were powerful people and it was not acceptable to them that they be considered outcastes. So they probably used the word Jaat to insist that they are people with a caste. This may be all hogwash, and maybe the word Jutt originates elsewhere.

What would you say Punjabi is? A regional identity? A race? A linguistic group? An ethnic group? All of it?

It looks so

Good, Canada should invade India and liberate Khalistan. 😂

It's strange there is Pakistani support for Khalistan as a bigger chunk of Pakistan is also claimed by Khalistan.

All states in India are semi - autonomous. The ones that aren't are called union territories.

There are only 10 completely autonomous districts in India and they belong in these 4 states (Assam, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Tripura)
They have better chance in making canada khalistan.

HIndutvas do not care for reality or truths. They only care about point scoring and pushing their agenda.
They know that Sikhs have no claim on Pakistan but they still push this since it allows them to divert away from the very real claim Sikhs have to Khalistan in Indian occupied Punjab.

Why sikhs have no claim on pakistan ? They were living in those areas before partition .

And?
Once partition happened, they chose India and forfeit all claims to Pakistan.
Just like Pakistanis Punjabis have forfeit our claims to Indian occupied Punjab.
Now I don't expect you to understand these high fluent ideas so I will make it simple for you.
Majority Sikhs live in Indian occupied Punjab, therefore, that is their Khalistan.
You can eat all the copium you want about them claiming Pakistani Punjab, but that is and will never be the reality.
