Remember Russia didn’t deliver paid S-300 to Iran for a long time because of US and Israeli pressures. China wın’t want to sacrifice economic benefits by confronting against bigger powers for the sake of Egypt. China has a totalitarian, communist regime... Turkey is trying to sell her product's aggressively... Not the same.

The thing is, you can't know everything about a product when you pay for it and buy it... China may sell the codes to the your enemy in a war. You can't know. Look what happened to Argentina in Falklands...
For us, we have 2 reasons to produce this sytem's, even if it's expensive.
1) Independence and national security.
2) Thats way our money stays in our own country, we don't lose our dollars. And even export our systems and make money...

That kind of thinking led to Turkey's very VERY late defense industry realization. We could have been on par with Europe if we hadn't abandoned all projects after Atatürk (1940's) and said "the US will NEVER sanction us".

Cyprus (1974) was a very harsh and rude awakening.

Egypt should be very wary of leaning on any country - no matter how friendly they may seem today.
