BEIRUT, LEBANON (10:30 P.M.) – In the event that a military confrontation occurs between Egypt and Turkey near the city of Sirte, the Egyptian military researcher Mohamed Al-Kinani told RT Arabic that it would cause the Turkish army “great losses”.

The Egyptian researcher indicated that the Turkish side is the one that will drain land, sea and air resources, due to the long distances through which it will be forced to secure supply and logistical support lines by its navy and air forces at a frightening financial cost.

He said in an interview with RT Arabic that “all of this is in front of forces of the size, capacity and experience of the Egyptian armed forces that will fight near its coasts, lands and airspace, and in a familiar and friendly environment that represents a direct strategic depth for them (east – central Libya), which provides them with the ability to form interlocking and intensified defense lines and multiple levels and layers allow.”

According to Kinani, the Egyptian forces “maneuver and move with tremendous advantage to drain the Turkish side and drag it into tight ambushes and incur heavy losses ”

He noted that the Egyptian army “will have a superior and advanced ability to compensate for losses and secure supply and logistical support lines, and at much shorter distances than they are on the Turkish side, which increases the difficulty of the task for the Turkish navy and aviation. They will never be able to muster all their combat capabilities in front of the Egyptian forces, given the urgent need to protect the Turkish airspace and the coasts that extend to the Mediterranean, Aegean, Marmara, and the Black Sea, as well as securing air, land, and supply lines from Turkey to Libya for a distance ranging between 1,500 and 2,000 km, and in front of a major enemy, which is Greece. He knows and knows the Turkish side well.”

He added: “Egypt did not define its red line from a vacuum, but rather based on planning and estimating a strategic position studied at various levels, and with full international and regional legitimacy.”

I agree to that point, overall Turkey is vastly superior to any country in the region ,in terms of the QUALITY of its fighting men and material.
He doesnt question the quality of Turkish equipment. Due to the Proximity of Egypt to Libyan borders, Egyptian Army would have superior hand in any scenario. This could be a good Factor to avoid war, you know the reason behind El-Sisi anxiety inccase if an MB affiliated government takes over Libya.

Seen the country this year seems like on a verge of a collapse, dont think anyone there has a stomach to put up a fight. All the focus is to grab dollars from the Gulf states and buy fancy toys, which will be of no use when the sanctions kick in.

Bro, you think that West will impose sanctions on Egypt if they went to war with Turks? They will arm both sides.

Turk-Arab conflict destroyed Ottomans and Israel was born. I dont know the result of this Current conflict but it wont be good.

This so called expert says Turkey won’t be able to use all of its military combat capabilities as they need to secure their air land and sea borders which is incredibly stupid and is out of touch with reality this guy sounds like the poor mismari(haftar’s propaganda mouthpiece)
Secondly why people are talking about some imaginary high losses when there are no turkish soldiers fighting-only military advisors
If eguptian army wants to fight they will find libyans and syrians as their counterparts in the land part of the war
Of course the air and the navy part would be done by turks turkish airforce&navy will dominate the sky&sea quite easily against poor qualified opponent

He is right. You are right too. So you suggest that Turkey will back Off in case her supported Groups are destroyed by Egypt?

Without airbases Tuaf couldn't do much of anything. All it needs is to take out all airbases used by GNA in Libya and Turkish air force is done with. You can barely get sorties even with tankers from Turkish land.

A war between Turkey and Egypt would take place on the sea not in Libya.

This kind of clash, if it happens would be a sure way for Egypt to lose at least it's entire navy. The Egyptians have a very tiny window of opportunity to change the facts on the ground before weapons such as Som's, Kuzguns and Kargi's come into mass production.

Take out egyptian airbases close to Libya with SOM and any mechanized forces in LIbya are easy picking for kuzgun like weapons.

It is getting Russian weapons just for that if you weren't aware.
300km range Bastion-P which is basically a Brahmos type missile.

On the Sea, im afraid Egypt still has the superior hand. They have valuable logistic assets such as misterals supported by SU35 and Mig35 fighter jets. Turkey on the other hand has a good local industries capable of keeping the frontline hot for Egypt.
The goodness of this Balance of power is that it will make both sides avoid war.

Those mistrals lack any command and control capability, nor unified command for their cluster**** of assorted equipment and helicopters that aren't suitable for sea operations. And they literally rigged some avengers on the deck for air defense. They are no match for the Turkish navy.
