Turkish Deputy Minister of National Defence: "We will be discussing with our Pakistani counterparts to officially include Pakistan in our jet program"

What will be Pakistan's contribution to this other than providing some borrowed dollars?

So you weren't born when jf17 started...learn to wipe your behind before you joke about jf17.

Jog on little man..u have a lot to learn.

With due respect, @arslank03 provided a very convincing case on why Turkey’s engine development program won’t be as easy a ride as advertised.

I think you can show a bit of humility and respect to a senior member who can back up his assertions with facts and has the requisite expertise to justify his claims. The forum benefits immensely from subject matter experts like him and & @JamD

But yes, China, with tons of aerospace experience, literally hundreds of billions of $, some of the most qualified scientists on the globe, and probably hundreds of thousands of engineers and an urgent national security need for domestic engines could not do it without significant hurdle, what makes you think itll be a downhill road here? Heck, India is another great example of someone who couldn't do it. China did it after 30 years and 200+bn even while using a preexisting core as the basis of the design. Do you know how insanely difficult it is to build an engine or are you being jazbati, because if it was just doable by anyone, they would have done it, instead you have a tiny club of successful nations

if you know nothing about Turkish Defense Industry , don't project your personal lameness on Turkiye

China was nothing to do with western style turbofan Engine technology

on the other hand Turkiye has 38 years Engine experience
Turkish TEI having started its manufacturing activities with 12 parts in 1985, currently manufactures over 1.500 components for 50 different types of military and commercial engine programs with its more than three decade experience in part and module manufacturing for GE , ROLLS ROYCE , SAFRAN ,etc

-- Rotating Parts (Shaft, Seal, etc.)
-- Modules (Power Turbine Module, Front Bearing Structure Module, etc.)
-- Fabricated Parts (Mixing Duct, Swirl Frame, etc.)
-- Structural Parts (Intermediate Casing, HPT Casing, Combustion Casing, etc.)
-- Blisk and Spool Manufacturing (Compressor Stg 1 - Stg 5 Blisks, HPC Spool Shaft Stg 10, etc.)

Single crystal blade and Blisk- Spool manufacturing Technologies
Turkiye is one of a few countries in the world ( USA , The UK , France , China , Turkiye , maybe also Russia ) that produce single cristal blade and Blisk- Spool manufacturing Technologies recently being used on new generation engines

also Turkiye now possess the highest tech on Burning chamber.

Turkiye has developed TEI TS-1400 turboshaft Engine just within 7 years
and in 2023 T-625 Helicopter made the first flight with indigenous TEI TS-1400 turboshaft Engine ... mass production will start after 2024

only a few countries in the world

now TEI develops 10.000 lbf TF-10.000 turbofan Engine with the latest technologies to power the KIZILELMA unmanned stealth Fighter Jet in 2030

Have look this is TF 10 000 engine. If we increase diameter of this engine with 15cm it will provide the required out put of KAAN Fighter Jet. 35 000 lbs

We stand among the leading suppliers across the world by the products manufactured and the projects carried out with our experience of 38 years

TR-MOTOR , TAI says 35.000 lbs turbofan Engine will be ready in 2028-2030 for testing
and more 2 years testing activities ... as of 2033 KAAN will fly with indigenous 35.000 lbs turbofan Engine

Turkiye needs 10 years ... not 30 years like China

Basically, it will alike similar to based Su 30 fighter, to su30 mki version.

Pakistan might be able to do kind of stuff after joining the project since base platform is already available now, just countries need to customized based on their requirements

This is good news for TFX project, the price per plane will go down. The next big thing is to include Saudi as well.

Saudi is definately rejected to participate in European program, so better joining TFX program then.

Pakistan should halt its J10 acquisition, money will be better used for TFX program.

China has much superior talent pool compared to Turkey
TEI Turkey has big stake own by General Electric.

The most likely scenario. Very good example I think.

What changes did India make to the Su-30? Were they significant?

#EXCLUSIVE | "In this month we will be discussing with our Pakistani counterparts to officially include Pakistan in our National Fighter Jet Program, #KAAN."

Dr. Celal Sami TÜFEKCİ, Deputy Minister of National Defence for #Turkiye

@JamD @Bilal Khan (Quwa) @FuturePAF @PanzerKiel @Signalian @Zarvan @Muhammad Saftain Anjum @Goenitz @SQ8 @Bilal.
Pakistan should partner in nuke technology too, both weapons and civilian programs.

Just go thru it, it is publicly online and available.... I could only say that almost three years of testing were done based on our requirements and integration of Indian and foreign-made types of equipment.

Another example is the Brahmos missile, It is developed in collaboration with Russia and India, and is based on a Russian cruise missile. Tested in India starting Russian engines and radars, and Indian-made parts.... Now the radar and engine have been replaced with Indian-made ones and also, other Russian made parts are being replace.

Joining a project is more useful if you can further replace the parts by locally made ones. Might will not be able to achieve 100%, but many things can be done.... As India did with the Su30 MKI and Brahmos.

Bengaluru: Irkut Corporation, a UAC member, which showcases the multi-role Su-30 MKI combat jets at the biennial air show, has announced that hi-tech components manufactured by Indian companies are being shipped as spares for the Su-30MKI/SM family of fighter aircraft to air forces across the world.

Yes, 2d Thrust vectoring engines, sensor suite, israeli weapon integration just to name a few. it is said that the MKis are the epitome of flanker technology.

engine development is a whole different level, while KAAN may get somewhere, its entirely possible their engine doesnt. Engine tech isnt kids play, the Chinese went through 4 failed designs, which they then applied to the WS-10 which used the core from a CFM56 or a derivative of. Even then it took over 30 years and the entire GDP of Pakistan to get to where they are today.
Turks had better starting point and know how then chinese. They will not have child pots problem with it.

Like he mentioned our 200 people are already working on the project. We are part of it for years now.
Have these people been sent officially by Paksiatn or they were hired independently by Turkey for their expertise in the filed?

Both these scenarios have completely different connotations to the so called - extensive cooperation.

Officially they were sent. Not hired.
