Turkish Air Defence Programs

You mean an even more expensive project. It seems you're only capable of trash talking.

Back to topic. I don't understand why the Patriot batteries are placed in those locations, it would make more sense to deploy them in forward positions for early detection and such.

Look at Riyadh, it's nearly 600+ km from Yemens border.

Aren't there any additional radar systems for early warning in KSA ?

Missile has to be in terminal phase to be intercepted that is how SAM systems are designed. Only Exception afaik is GMD which should intercept missile in mid course phase.

Perfect timing to post this:

During the first Iraq war Americans claimed they intercepted 90% of the Iraqi missiles, well turns out it was BS:

It was a failure, and that is admitted by US officials. Thats why they have PAC1, PAC2 and now PAC3 missiles. Well one have missed and its called failure, it can mis ther is no 100% guarantee. Well if s300 or s400 mis would it be a failure?

1993 mate, different time, they used floppy, and processing power wasn't what it is today. Which is one reason why you can't compare the SAM systems from back then with today.

I think forward positions like lighthouses with radar or such, outposts are necessary to detect missiles as soon as possible in order to raise the chances of intercepting.

If you cant properly intercept scud missiles, I dont know.

I fail to understand whether you're critisizing the system based on the article from 1993 or are you critisizing it based on recent event, e.g. the article I posted ?

İranians are smirking and saying:
Yemen rebels send missile which costs 200.000usd , saudians intercept them with at least 2 missiles cost, 3million usd per one. :)
KSA soon will spend all inventory.
İt's the logic of wars. Like israeli iron dom system there must be another alternatives.

So we know that PAC is directional, and S300-400 is covers the area like a big dome. How is Hisar system going to be ? Will it be like PAC or like S300-400 ?

I know there is a picture of how our own SAM system is going to be working, but will it work that way, or will we have to change it along the way ?

I think KSA solution would be to invade Yemen and wipe out the Houthis.

Who's arming the houthies with these missiles?

Judging by the vertical missile launch tube on Hisar-O i'd hazard a guess and say it's like a dome.

At this rate, are we going to see S400 in Turkey next year?
