What's new

Turkish Air Defence Programs

When we receive F35 s next year, it will be restricted any how. You can’t use here, there, etc. so who cares. I agree with u Vord it’s big security risk, they ll know when, where u eat and sht.

I mean new cars in US, has emergency system which control by whom ever produce it, can stop your car or can start your car by gps satilite etc. long story short, high tech f35 s hide who know what under its hood.
You guys still believe we will actually get them :)

Honestly I don't think we are going to receive any of the ordered F35s. We should stop dreaming and start aim on other brands. Its probably better to buy russian jets instead of throwing away money on US garbage as they probably would never let us do anything with these planes anyway.

Air dominance determines the result of all wars. Turkey needs to speed up its aerospace programs in order to attain and maintain air dominance:
  • Hurjet
  • TFX
  • Multi-stage UFS/SLV satellite launch rocket/vehicle
  • E/O, infrared and radar based spy satellites
  • GPS alternative
  • Atak & Atak-II
  • Multipurpose utility helicopters, heavylift helicopters
  • UAV/UCAV systems of all kinds, both fixed wing and rotary/helicopter
  • AESA radar and encrypted datalink technology
  • Jet engine technology with over 20,000 lbsf thrust, turbojet, turbofam SCRAMJET, etc
  • Orbital trajectory control and atmospheric reentry technology
  • High power laser weapons
  • Missile guidance systems with all MADE IN TURKEY electronic components (infrared seekers, laser seekers, imaging infrared seekers, terrain following radar, highly precise laser-gyro based inertial navigation system, anti-radiation/signal seekers. active radar seekers, sonar seekers, etc etc)
  • Radar absorbing materials, active radar cancellation technology, etc

US will apply umbergo sooner or later it is better to take action before they apply. Maybe it will effect us for some years but after first effect we will be more independent more strong.

It would be very dumb for the Americans NOT to take Turkey's money and deliver çakma F-35s that they control. :)

They will sell it, no worries. Economic problems in US is a huge problem right now.

I believe it was even a law that all military crafts made in the us should the chip inside that is controlable from the us itself. Isnt that why when our aselsan engineers discovered way around many got in suspicious suicides? Or was this just a rumour?

Yes they did.

So why we even bother to buy these if we getting distance more from them

Turkish Aviation industry will make close to 10b$ in the next 40 years by selling components as well as overhaul of the engine. All the European f135 engines will get their overhauls in Turkey.

Whatever Russians/Europeans/Chinese offer can't be better than what we got from this project. While We will get our first batch next year, there isn't any alternative in the foreseeable future. Pakfa isn't ready and it has more problem than f35 at the moment. And neither Chinese nor Russians won't be able to export any 5th gen fighter before mid 2020s, So We don't have any alternative if we want 5th gen fighter.

Yes but they will be useless and our relation with the west is getting worse amd worse so if even a small scale skirmish/war breaks out we are doomed they will fall down like dead birds

There are 3 countries that have been awarded with the engine maintenance contracts for the F35s. Turkey is the first, but only for a few years then the Netherlands and then Norway will do the same. What share Turkey gets will remain to be seen. Already the British parliament and media have kicked up a bit of a fuss about engines being sent to Turkey.
