Turkish Air Defence Programs

So ; Turkey's air defence projects are;

- barreled 35mm KORKUT ( for aircafts, uavs, helicopters , cruise missiles )

missiles ;

- hisar-p (portatif) ( manpads),
- hisar-a (low altitude , goes with mechanized units ) (mixed with hisar-o)

-hisar-o (middle altitude, for headquarters , buildings and bases)

-Hisar-n (nokta)(i guess for navy, essm equal)

-Hisar-u (long range middle altitude) ( extended hisar-o, field defence)

- hisar-u2 (with eurosam, some variaty of samp-t .. for navy and land; either air defense , or anti-ballistic missile.. i guess especially tf-2000 will use it )

-natioanal iron dome (we saw its picture in a graphic but never talled)( for facilities, cities, bases , balistic missile defence)

- high altitude and long range ( one of s-400/patriot ) (i really dont sure which or both of them will be bought)

  • Hisar-G, Hisar-G+ and Hisar-O+ Missile projects commenced a while ago. “G” stands for short range IIR and Long range RF “Goktuğ” AA missiles integrated on Hisar launchers to be used as SAM roles by land units. G+ is extended range variant of Goktuğ missiles to reach longer ranges.

  • I think Hisar-Nokta and Hisar-O+ will have many similarities in performance parameters. Hisar-Nokta is required by Turkish Air Force to replace obsolete Hawk missiles, While Hisar-O+ is extended range variant of Hisar-O that performance parameters are optimized to compete with medium range equivalents on export markets.
  • We don’t have any info about Hisar-Port/Base variant missiles yet.
  • Hisar-A will be used on two roles. Otonom for escort missions and Truck mounted for base protection.
  • MANPADS missile will have a range of (planned)6km and altitude of 4km.
  • Hisar-U will be domestic long altitude missile which is going to reach a range of ~90km. It is considered to be Hisar-O+ with booster which is similar with Aster family in concept.
  • “GUMS” is another long altitude anvanced long altitude missile defence system to be used primerily against ballistic missiles and air breathing threats. EuroSam and Roketsan/Aselsan team signed an agreement to discuss the best needs of Turkey to develop/likely join European Aster Blk1NT or Blk2 for anti-ballistic missile defence system.
  • It seems Turkish Iron Dome C-RAM missiles will be a variant of Hisar-A and Korkut team.

  • There is a seperate project called “Sapan” which is not included into list above. Sapan is thought to be a RAM equivalent missile which is described for Turkish Navy.

It is stated that National vertical launch system is going to be stationed on Istanbul class frigates to equip Turkish SAM missiles on a national warship...

Bro, I agree with you but Iron Dome is not an anti Ballistic missile. It is designed to protect soldiers from Artillery ammunitions. But i agree with you about the rest.

it is, but imagine that Turkey has soldiers in Idlib and anyone around that area fire mortar ammunution that kill several Turkish soldiers to increase the tension.. But, having it, also mitigate that risk... Or PKK did against Turkish Dam..

Iron Dome is to much expensive.
I am not sure if the Turkish variation will be as expensive as the Israeli Iron Dome but for sure its needed. We suffered a lot from Katyusha like projectiles hitting our border cities from Syria.

EDIT: If you look closely at the pic and Cabatli's explanation it is explained that most probably the system will be variant of Korkut-Hisar A team.

in the future, Laser weapon will do the job.. as they did successful fire of laser against mortar shells in the US
 
In farther future maybe. To hit a drone is one thing, to hit a missile another.
Disabling a primitive rocket with impact warhead without exploding expensive guided missiles near it (hoping it will disable the warhead) (whose success rate is minor) is a problem. It looks like exploding air defence munitions (Phalanx,KORKUT,...) might be most feasible, in terms of cost. Is there any hard material explaining the success rate of Iron Dome against GRAD like rockets? Feels like a deterrence propaganda.
