YouTube expects Turkey to restore access after removing videos

ISTANBUL, Turkey (AP) - YouTube has removed several video clips that had prompted Turkish authorities to block access to the video-sharing Web site.

A court in the capital of Ankara banned access to the site at the request of a prosecutor who had argued the clips were disrespectful to a Turkish war hero who founded Turkey from the ruins of the Ottoman Empire.

In a statement in Turkish sent to the The Associcated Press, YouTube said after reviewing the video it removed the clips because of their content.

YouTube officials were expecting to have access to the site restored soon.

YouTube is owned by Mountain View-based Google.

You guys have no idea, AKP government doesn't give a chit about anti islamic videos... They blocked youtube just to stop people from listening to their leaked voice recordings before the elections. Just trying to hide how corrupt they are

Thats really sad... .. in our country many politican's leaked videos and sex phone tape is leaked on youtube and other sites... but we give damn to dm... but when anti islam material was uploaded on youtube back in 2013 ...we blocked whole youtube... and am very much ok with dat... infact huge percentage of pakistani population is in favour of this ban .. less some so called liberal fascist ..
