People always harp on how there’s good generals but they were nowhere to be found when Raymond Davis murdered innocent people and when innocent people were getting drone struck in ex-FATA.

But in a democracy, even an imperfect one, State = People. If the Pakistan military decides not to support the state, but support the "people", who are these "people" and where did they come from? How does anyone know that they represent all of the people or at least a majority of them? If out of 220 million, 2,000 or 20,000 or 200,000 decide to stage protest march, should that be sufficient to topple the state as presently constituted?

This is true and in Pakistan almost every other family has someone in the military or associated with the military. The soldout generals don't realise that when the wind changes it will be the people and the army vs the lota generals of the CIA. The Americans will not be there for them and the people will slaughter them.

No state control is what Pakistan agreed to in 1947, which is why it was called FATA. The retaking control is akin to India scrapping Article 370 in Kashmir as the principle of autonomy was taken away.

And the Chenegai airstrike was the catalyst to further increase of the insurgency in the region.

The problem in Pakistan are peoples mindset.
We are controlled through army and establishment by western powers. If army and establishment doesnt remain the center of power then it will be political leadership that will sell us for their interests.
When people of Pakistan learn say no to any offer against their people, when people of Pakistan will learn the fact that Pakistan can be a better place than europe and usa, only then Pakistan will become a better place to live.
Imran no imran, army no army, zerdari no zerdari doesnt really matter.
