i think the US propaganda machine is responsible for much of the misunderstanding between china and india.

i mean, all it takes is 1-2 fake news articles on the net, and it can seriously influence public opinion.

our only differences lie on the border and pakistan; if india and pakistan are peaceful, and the border issues settled, and all of this is done without a war, the US would be very nervous indeed.

China has already recognize Sikkim is an integral part of India.

South Tibet (In Indian side, calls Arunachal), like the North frontier occupied by Russia / USSR in Qing Dynasty via unequal treaties, will not return to China. But CCP cannot recognize it very soon. At least, Chinese citizen don't agree! (This part is still claimed by Republic of China, even thought some Taiwanese wants Independence)

Also Tibetan Government claims Qinghai, where was actually under control of Republic of China after Qing Dynasty had falled. Tibetan autonomy government never governed Qinghai after Qing dynasty had collapsed. Qinghai is the source of two major rivers of China (Long River and Yellow River)

If USA / Indian / NATO army enter Tibet or Qinghai, 97% 1.4b of Chinese will support CCP or future democratic government use nuclear weapon to extinguish the invaders!

Until the Western World and India stop to support Tibetan independence movement, it is expected that China will receive India sovereignty over Arunachal Pradesh (South Tibet).

India does not want to free tibet from u, but if u think dalai lama is working on this, them I must say you are wrong, he is just a spiritual leader.... And India knows what its doing...

Peace is good for common people and good for boosting economy. Asian country shouldnt fall down into to the traps which are made by west.

That is well said, although in truth it isn't the West that is the main culprit. There was plently of killing, looting, and mutual destruction before the Anglo Saxons paddled across the pond.

Let's not forget that the so-called "West" itself was a slaughterhouse until not that long ago ...

But one point that has dawned on me over the last two years (prompted ironically, or not much, by Mumbai 26/11) that peace along China's Western border depends as much on China vis-a-vis India as on India vis-a-vis Pakistan ...

Peace in the neighbourhood will likely remain a three-way affair well into the forseeable future. Perhaps until such time as a "pan-Green" military alliance takes real charge of certain historical landscape ... I will not elaborate on this further.

I remember a while ago some blogger on Sina.com mentioning matter-of-factly that the PRC will be in a war if India attacks Pakistan (along the line of Cold Start or what not).

Comments were boiterous as per usual after any "strategic" articles. But not one person challeges this view.

That's telling.

Competitions among nations are not bad - they stimulate growth and ensure accountability. But no nations should want their neighbourhood to be the Balkans.

Look how happy "they" must feel when the three go to war - first there goes the "Islamic bomb" - either through destruction or "consumption", and then there goes greenhouse emission and "strategic challenges" over the next two centuries with the reduction/renewed dependency of hundreds of millions ...

Don't be surprised "they" declare the day when war breaks out an international holiday!
