What's new

The Chinese Bayraktar

How many people in China think this copying is embarrassing?
not many.

Dude, we have like 7 Moon mission, and 500+ space mission afterward, they can't all be fake. And then all the moon rock we bring back with the hydrogen level so high it could not be come from earth, that already proof we have already landed on moon.

I mean, NASA do thing to progress their scientific purpose, not to be a showoff, they don't waste money as much as congress see space station being a heaps of money trap just to proof that we did went to the moon and back.

As for Chinese Bayraktar, if they want to ride the high on the Turkish drone, that's up to them, I have no qualm about whether or not they are copying the drone or copying the idea or whatever from another country and another company, but just so you know, doing this is exactly why a country cannot get ahead, because if you call J-20 the Chinese F-22 or Chinese HIMARS or whatever, you aren't getting ahead of the game because you name/call your product on an already existing thing.

Definitely looks exactly like it
rumor has it that the Turkish ambassador sent a hand written note to the Chinese foreign affairs protesting over this copywrite violation. the Chinese copied his handwriting and reproduced a letter in his writing singing praise to Xi and the Chinese ingenuity

(not a true story).

.
If there is money to be made, Chinese will be all over it. China simply provides the supply to every demand out there.

What China actually incorporates into its own military is a complete different discussion, even JF-17s are not incorporated into the military due to standards and needs.

What did Israel copy? Israel is a pioneer at UAV technology.

Everyone has used this established design. Placement of communication devices and sensors in the bulbous section, canted tails, very low sweep angle long wings for long endurance and higher lift.

@Beast why do you insist on inappropriate comparisons. Responding to some inappropriate and inaccurate comparisons and criticisms is understandable but the US long had a space station 😒 well before ours and their space programs have been far stronger before. It's only recently that our space programs are beginning to catch up to the US which is a feat because no one else comes remotely close but to say the US has no space station and comparing the space programs even of today's, China's does not match the US yet.

Hermes 900 is much smaller than the MQ9, easily distinguishable from it by the exhaust, head, wing span, length, height, optics placement etc.

Meanwhile the Chinese drone looks like a literal copy.

Ahh I see we're talking details. In this TB-2 copy, indeed it is identical.

Some old timer managers at CETC would have asked the model builders to make something look as near 1:1 as possible as Bayraktar. Chinese people over the age of 50 just think this is the appropriate way. They think if a Porsche is popular the company director would ask their teams to make something look 1:1. That's how the customers want it they think.

In this TB-2 case, it is a model only. No prototype even has been made. It's there to show customers they can buy a TB-2 like drone of that small size and associated low cost from CETC. CETC's managers think they can have a higher chance of winning customers if they make the model showing the product to look exactly the same as the famous product. That's just how older Chinese think from the times they were brought up in and the general attitudes. Will only change in 20 to 40 years when these tasteless older people are no longer in positions of management.

I understand it because I'm Chinese and see if in practice from any and every product. But these guys are also not totally wrong. Many customers indeed want it to look identical to the famous product.

But many people think we can't make other stuff that aren't 1:1 lookalikes. There are many drones in Chinese service that are either totally different or only based on established designs like Hermes uses an established design.

As for subcomponents, Chinese offer here would be using many different types of electronic equipment customers can choose from if they want such a thing to be made. For now it is only a model promoting customers to pick it if they need something similar to TB-2 but can't buy from Turkey for whatever reason. If they do choose to buy, only after that would the product be made.

At least I can criticize my prime minister openly.

Can you criticize Xi Jinping? No, you can't and that's why many pro-China pdf members live in the west.
Using criticism disguise as lies against others? No thanks. I am glad China stop these rot promote by the west.

You need to understand. US space station tested in late 70s are not meant to be permanent (365days) like ISS. They are many crucial technology not conquer by US. If not, why would they role in Russia and ask them to produced the crucial core module for ISS?

You really think US is so capable in space technology?

They are capable in space technology. To deny and say otherwise is as bad as how Indians claim China has no capability in space technology compared to India which is a massive lol.

More like u r in denial how US struggle to keep ISS afloat with no near replacement in future as Russia threaten to pull out. And how US struggle to put SLS , the rocket they claim to put man on moon in the 70s, just into space in 2022.

You are the one acting like Indian bragging about 2030 supapowa for the USA. :enjoy:

Eh. This is tiring.

All I'm trying to say is the US currently is nowhere near as in front as it was in the past but still a stronger space power than China. To claim US is a "weak" space power is simply ridiculous on your part in your previous post.

China must not rest and that attitude of already arriving is too arrogant for my personal consideration. Let's just say that China is rapidly progressing in space tech but the US is at least respectable space power (so why make fun of the space station comparison??) and currently ahead of China wrt space technologies. Comparing SpaceX with China's current ones show the biggest gap in the respective space tech of the two leading nations in space. The smallest gaps and others sure, China is at US level in small isolated regards, have been doing more. Overall the picture is still US far ahead and the tech more advanced than China's ... overall. Let's keep developing and focus on not just surpassing but what the journey is about. To reach heights rather than simply competing and surpassing the leader... which currently in space is surely the US.

turkey and its fans overestimate their technical level.

Wwdym it's a bullpupped F-22

Good for you, Hong Kong pirate
I heard that Turkey tried to copy the Chinese AVIC Dark Sword . Really?

My dude these people are photocopies of each other.
Turkey needs Chinese technology. But China really doesn't need Turkey's technology. Let's stay away from each other. thank you.

.
Not quite, you can't export a copied design not without paying the necessary royalties to the firm that first designed the drone, Well you can but then you expose yourself to all kinds of legal issues. Copying the design saves thousands of hours of engineering effort and the added cost of wind tunnel tests. The Chinese are then able to sell a Bayraktar copy at a fraction of the cost of the original. So it's just unfair to the business that came up with the original design. If everyone followed this model it would very quickly kill innovation. The Chinese can easily come up an original design but they deliberately choose to take a short cut to make more profits.
China's UAV technology is more than 10 years ahead of Turkey! Because of the similar appearance, China copied the Turkey UAV??? How absurd! Go to see China GJ11! Turkey cannot manufacture in 10 years! Now Turkey does not need Chinese technology?

The new super power China 🤣🤣
1. China has nothing to do with the word "super power".

2. Chinese UAV is 100% Chinese technology. It has nothing to do with other countries.
