so you mean to say that next time your defence minister faces the media tejas would be competing f 22. he is good in exploring potentials.

Just as F22 is the most capable 5th generation bird, Rafale 4.5 multi-role medium weight fighter, same way Tejas can be a capable light weight interceptor for IAF (capable in it's own category)

Bhai he also stated range, speed, weapon carrying capacity etc of Rafale is twice that of LCA. Now you also know the difference between the two and you are not exactly defense minister of Pakistan. So, it's easy to understand what he is trying to say. I am not sure if he was addressing the media in Hindi as his Hindi is not very good and God knows what he said and what the media quoted him saying

no sir he said rafale speed is double as it is double engine aircraft. and wanted to show that tejas is good as it's speed is half of rafale where as it is single engine.

Now that explains why India cut down it's Rafale order from 126 to just 36.
Also not to be equipped with too many high tech Tejas, it is considering some less capable aircraft in the shape of F/A18 , F-16 and Grippen.
