Taliban [ Images ] militants in the terror hotbed of North Waziristan have threatened the Pakistan government with a "big war" if the country's army launched any military operation in the region.

In a pamphlet, Taliban Shura Ittihad-ul-Mujahideen asked the residents of North Waziristan to seek haven from Afghan President Hamid Karzai [ Images ] should a war break out, accusing the Pakistan government of violating a peace accord, according to SITE, the US group monitoring extremist websites.

"If army started another operation here, Mujahideen [ Images ] will start a big war in the area so local people are directed to form a committee of elders to meet Karzai and ask him for a safe place... to migrate," the pamphlet said.

It said though Karzai is himself a "kaffir" but he is still better to look after the peace deal than the Pakistanis.

"Brothers are requested to spread this news so that it reach the ears of Pakistani population," it added.

The shura alleged that the government is taking advantage of the situation and has established a spy network in the agency, and killed several militants and civilians.

It said according to the peace accord, government had agreed to withdraw troops from Janikhel and Bakkakhel areas of the tribal agency, but the number of troops had increased there since the agreement.

The Pakistani Army launched military operations first in North Waziristan Frontier Province and then in South Waziristan and is believed to be preparing for an offensive in North Waziristan.

The Council of Mujahideen was established in February 2009 and comprised of North Waziristan Taliban leader Hafiz Gul Bahadar, South Waziristan chieftain Mullah Nazir, and the then leader of the Movement of Taliban in Pakistan Baitullah Mehsud.

Nazir and Bahadar are not part of the The Movement of the Taliban in Pakistan.
They formed the coalition on behalf of Mullah Omar [ Images ] and Osama bin Laden [ Images ] who wanted the Pakistani Taliban to form a united front.:mod::mod:

North Waziristan militant faction threatens ‘big war’

WASHINGTON: Insurgents in North Waziristan threatened the government with a “big war” if it continued to violate a peace accord, US monitors of extremist websites said Monday.

The North Waziristan faction of the Shura Ittihadul Mujahideen also called on residents to form a council of elders and seek haven from Afghan President Hamid Karzai should war break out, the SITE monitoring group said.

The threat came in the form of a pamphlet that an Internet user on the English-language division of the Ansar al-Mujahideen jihadist forum said had been distributed among the population of North Waziristan.

“If the army started another operation here the Mujahideen will start a big war in the area so the local people are directed to form a committee of the elders to meet Hamid Karzai and ask him for a safe place for the local people to migrate,” the pamphlet said, according to SITE.

“He himself is kaffir (infidel) but he is better to look after the peace deal than the Pakistanis,” it added.

“Brothers are requested to spread this news so that it reaches the ears of the Pakistani population.”

North Waziristan is a bastion of Al-Qaeda-linked militants and believed to be home to Afghan Taliban leader Sirajuddin Haqqani.

The pamphlet accused the Pakistani government of breaking a peace deal by establishing check points and a network of spies to help the US conduct deadly strikes with unmanned drones.

Bahadar and Nazir and Haqqani are much stronger then Mehsud Group.Presently focusing on Afghanistan because they dont wanted to tartget Pakistan being independent muslim country .But if PA decided to attack or capture their areas then they will definately retaliate , in that case Mullah Omar will also support them.Estimated 50 Million people will have to migrate from battle zone ,All big cities of NWFP and Balouchistan will also be effected.

"Estimated 50 Million people will have to migrate from battle zone..."

Estimate that you're wrong just based upon that number above unless your "battle zone" is something much, much more than N. Waziristan.

Nazir and Bahadur signed a peace accord with your government but it included, IIRC, the provision to not conduct attacks across the border. It's inevitable that those making war on Afghanistan from within your country will come into conflict with the GoP. I've been told that the only reason such hasn't yet happened is because your military is stretched thin. If so, there will be a time when it is not so stretched. We see already measures taken to move F.C. personnel back into FATA to resume their traditional duties. Doing so will ultimately and considerably alleviate the stress upon your regular forces and free them for such.

You do support your government and army, don't you?:agree:

I have estimated effected areas on following basis

NWFP : 20 Million (Including 3 Million Afghan Mahagireen)
Balouchistan :10 Million
6 (Distt of Punjab close to NWFP and Balouchistan) : 20 Million

No body want war but we should be realistic before starting new advanture .

Who will arrange food and shelter for these IDPs per day cost 100 Million dollar per day @2 dollar per head.

You know Haqqani has control in North Waziristan and Nazir and Bahadar are in South Waziristan and in few distts of Balouchistan. They have estimated 150000 trained Gurrilla force (including Mehsud and Arab/Uzbik/Tajik/Chechan ) .

I fear you suffer from dramatis pychosis, me lad.

"No body want war..."

War comes whether we wish it or not.

"...but we should be realistic..."

Then do so. Your estimate of the IDPs from such as well as the forces arrayed against humanity in your little corner seem to exceed others.

"...before starting new advanture..."

Shall we consider your opinion of that ongoing in Bajaur and SWA as well as the past in SWAT and Buner as "advanture [sic]"?

Thanks.:usflag:

So we should let thugs threaten and blackmail the State into submission?

The Taliban have options - disband their militias and submit to the writ of the State. if they do that there will be no confrontation and no war. If they want to fight NATO, they should do what they are suggesting the local population do - migrate to Afghanistan and enjoy 'Karzai's hospitality'.

I am not veteren so chances to suffur from PTSD or dramatis pychosis are negligible.

What about you sir?

We have seen after effects of Iraq and Afghanistan? what is net result = poverty ,bloodshed, distruction of infrastructure , 300000 US marines deployed in Iraq and Afghanistan suffered from PTSD

Sharp increase in mental illness among US troops during 2007

Case of Swat is diffferent from Waziristan .

"What about you sir?"

Only the occasional acid flashback.

$ 1.2 Billion are compensation from America. Now i got the context of the fresh aid. Hope Pakistan comes out of this with flying colors. and the aid is last of the lot.

Sir, the FC is already deployed to its maximum, rather at 100%.

The FC that you are pointing to and which was referred to a few days back is the Frontier Constabulary not Corps, both are different.

Frontier Constabulary is kind of reserve police duty guys, they are manned by Police Officers, not Army Officers. And their number is much less compared to Frontier Corps. This FC is good in just city areas, not for COIN operations.
