Please don't bring bulls and buffaloes here. I don't keep them, but villagers usually don't sell them off to slaughterhouses. It happens but is very very rare and leads to social problems. In any case slaughterhouses don't buy these old cattle.Beef industry thrives on males of the species, same applies to buffalos and goats also! That's why I keep saying that it has barely anything to do with the religious sensitivities, but people start dragging cows into the discussion and start talking about gau-mata and milk etc. And that's why I am also against the recent ban on slaughtering of bulls & bullocks in Maharashtra & Haryana, cow slaughtering is already banned in both places for decades now, and that should have been enough. This ban on bulls & bullocks will cause lesser harm to the beef traders because they will use more buffalos, but it will be a double whammy for the poor villagers irrespective of their religions who not only won't be able to sell their unproductive livestock (bulls & bullocks) to earn some much needed money, but they have to spend money on them for 15-20 years till they die naturally.
Besides, it will be an additional burden on the already strained environment for continuously supplying additional food and water to crores of additional bulls & bullocks, and they are not frugal eaters!
You like to volunteer huh !Gau mata needs husband. There must be no argument on this.

The only beef that is profitable is young fresh cow/bull meat. A substantial part of that comes from theft, if not the majority. It might come as a simple case of selling cattle once their use is over to you. But in closely knit Hindu village communities, we don't sell retired cows. And NEVER productive ones.
A support for increased beef production is actually indirectly one that roots for more cattle theft. It's the biggest industry in rural India and manned largely by a particular ... never mind.
Haha, cattle theft is more frequent than MP visits. Plus the cows smuggled to BD are generally older and poorer quality if I am not wrong. @bongbang whaddup? The whole issue is about this new ban on slaughter of bulls and bullocks, cow slaughter was banned in those states long ago.
And yes, beef from young bull/bullock is profitable, old ones don't have much demand. Young cows are very costly though, and earns good regular income for its owner, neither anybody will sell them for slaughtering, nor slaughterhouses would be able to afford them for beef which is actually a cheap meat.
And are you sure all these cattle going to slaughterhouses in India and Bangladesh are stolen? That will be some 3-4 million stolen cattle every month I think! Sounds incredible!

I did not need the details. Yuck.In Eid time we like to have young healthy Bulls with 2 teeths. Which looks nice. Generally we love Desi cows. Indian cows are cheap. But no one generally buys old ones. What is really slaughtered normal times we dont have any idea. We can know by meat if that is old or not. Known butcher wont sell old cow meat if accidentally bought that tastes bad. Bad for teeth Cant cook well.

No, they are actually good quality healthy young bulls, big ones, which are found in Haryana, Punjab, MP, etc. Older cattle not only taste bad, the quantity of meat is also very low, any butcher selling that will lose customers.
@bongbang for goats we have a specific criterion, it has to be a young castrated male (khasi), we don't eat uncastrated goats or female goats. Do you have any such criterion for cows?

Bongbang says otherwise.
I have another top suggestion, will post soon.
But he was complaining that the beef we send is of poor quality...Everytime I bite on a nicely cooked juicy peace of a mutton, my belief in the god gets stronger!
Where? He said young bulls!
I saw Hindus prefer Patha instead of Khasis... I also saw most Hindus eat testicles. Yaakkkkk.
But he was complaining that the beef send is of poor quality...
Are you talking about food or....Do you have any preference for castrated or uncastrated bulls?
