'Starving Bangladesh of beef' would cost India $5 Billion

its an emotional issue for some..logic does not work well.

Not a direct comparison, but its more 'logical' and 'economical' to let elder people die instead of wasting resources on them, we do not primarily because of emotions.

Humans are not machines dictated only by logic, humanity is critical, for many people religion and religious beliefs define and drive their humanity.

you are essentially agreeing with me..because I dont see why a goat need to be killed for food.

Personally, I have no problems with either killing or not killing. My considerations are societal and political.

The Hindutva brigade won't allow cow smuggling/exports so Bangladesh should build its own cow herds for beef production. This will create employment in Bangladesh and money will stay in the country. While it will cost India to feed and maintain uneconomical dairy cows and bulls to their natural life. It is the Indian farmers and dairy producers that sell these cows why don't they be first prosecuted ?

So a democratic country like India should allow "smuggling" just because Bangladeshis want to eat beef?

Let me see how many morons give "Yes" as an answer on this.

Before asking that question you should also read that Indian fishermen are plundering fishing stocks by fishing illegally in Sri Lankan waters. That is also form of smuggling meat ! So Indian fisherman can smuggle fish from Sri Lanka but cattle cannot be smuggled from India into Bangladesh ?

It's a shameless pillage by plundering Indians - Neduntivu is perishing

That's 5 billion dollars extra for Pakistan. We must make sure our Bangla friends always have access to juicy beef ribs.
Yeah .. But with extra shipping charges.

Since cow is considered a holy animal in India by all means I respect that inspite of any religion I follow... I myself a meat lover but I am always vigilant that I am not eating beef but buff... If smuggling does not happen and we have to accumulate all cows then what... White revolution will flourish and we will profit from it... We are blindly building shopping malls .. We can rather build cow sheds...

Even the smuggling of drugs and humans beings can benefit the economy. No?
lame,
i expect u to come up with some better explanation.
whats wrong with govt.???asking bsf to clamp down cattle smuggling,,,,,why not all kinds of smuggling, drugs n human included(yes that is happening too).cow has become more important an issue thn illegal immigration tht home ministry has to point out cattle smuggling of all the sh#t that happens along tht border...if anything they shud regulate the trade n make profit out of it

Send more goats. We love mutton. Indian cow tastes bad anyway

Toatally impractical Mr Rajnath Singh. They will run these madness maximum for one year .Then they will end this stupiditty.

First of all, its a Sri Lanka newspaper.
So they will write what they feel like.
Give me neutral source.
