Size of the Turkish Armed Forces

Yes it includes Jandarma Paramilitaries.

The Jandarma has 189,786 Personnel.

Unfortunately my turkish isn't amazing so someone else will have to handle that.

Jandarma is paramilitary ? :undecided: I don't think so mate they should be considered as military.

When you look up to wiki page "Village guards" are counted as paramilitary not jandarma.

Also;

A gendarmerie or gendarmery (/dʒɛnˈdɑrməri/ or /ʒɑːnˈdɑrməri/) is, in principle, a military[1] force charged with police duties among civilian populations.

According to wiki they are paramilitary law enforcement.

Also in the paramilitary source you provided it says that Gendarmerie is a type of paramilitary force.

I think he meant it included paramilitary that was serving Jandarma, since Korucus are commanded by Jandarma.

But are they really included in the list ?

turkey has massive manpower , tech and well equipment armed forces .. but I have a question for Turkish members , just like other EU members have turkey ever think to decrease the manpower and increase in tech like ships and Airforce to modernize their Armed force ?

@Informant in short there is 213k professional personel, which includes officers, petty officers, specialist privates/corporals/sergenas and contracted soldiers.

There is 410k reserve officers and constripted soldiers.

Total military personal is 623.351

They are reducing the conventional army and replace them with professionals.

Turkey ought to expand it's navy. All regional powers have excellent navies to project power. Muslim countries lacks decent navies. Age of long ground war is over. In future "projection of power" will dominate diplomacy not big land forces.

The Turkish Navy is currently undergoing several modernization programmes to replace its ageing equipment. As of 2013 its major projects are as follows:
