Sheikh Zayed Mosque

@al-Hasani Mashallah brother that is one of the most beautiful mosque i've ever seen.

every mosque is a house of Allah n we go there to stand in-front of him and only him.

may Allah bless us in this holy month of Ramadan.

الله أكرم

;)

You are very much welcome 7abibi. I also love the small and simple mosques that are located on isolated spots. If not more. Plenty of those in KSA and Yemen in the mountain areas and elsewhere. From my understanding then the same is the case in Pakistan.

What makes the Saleh Mosque great is that it is located in Sana'a with an amazing view over the entire ancient city and the unique Yemeni architecture and the view over the mountains.

The mosque itself just as the city of Sana'a is located 2250 meters above sea level which makes the climate really enjoyable all year around.

But to be honest then the money should rather be used on the people and not just architecture. Yemen is not KSA, UAE, Iraq, Iran or Qatar in terms of natural resources.

Yemen is a poor country economically but a very rich country in terms of history, culture, traditions, beauty of its landscapes, nature, warmth of the people etc. Also very welcoming. We have hosted many immigrants from the Horn of Africa, Iraq, Palestine etc. throughout history despite not having much ourselves in terms of economical riches. Which is really a thing that I admire greatly about my mother's country among the hundred of other things.;)

The grave of Shaikh Zayed is the only grave marked in UAE. No other person has his grave marked.

Zayed Mosque draws 340,000 worshippers

A total of 340,000 fasting persons have been welcomed at Shaikh Zayed Grand Mosque Centre in Abu Dhabi, where they had their Iftar meals in the second and third weeks of the holy month of Ramadan.

This was part of Iftar Saaim scheme (Serving Iftar to a fasting person) scheme, which has been held every year as a charity for the departing soul of the late Shaikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan.

Iftar meals are served to the faithful in air-conditioned tents set up in the compounds of the mosque.

The number of Iftar meals which are provided by the centre every day through the Iftar Saaim scheme is said to be between 21,000 to 24,000.

The meals are prepared by the Armed Forces Officers club in Abu Dhabi, and is integrated food in which the needs of the fasting are considered.

The centre has formed a number of committees comprising its employees and volunteers to serve the fasting visitors. It has allotted a tent for serving Iftar to women and families, and it is organising the work progress during Ramadan in collaboration with a number of government entities in the country.

Meanwhile, as many as 131,000 worshippers had performed Taraveeh prayer in the same period (second and third weeks of Ramadan), while 31,000 offered Tahajjud (night prayer) in the first two days of the last ten days of the holy month.

Shaikh Idris Abbakar who leads the prayers in the mosque, is among the elite of the Qaris (reciters) of the Holy Quran in a Ramadan Lights programme that the centre hosts to revive the Taraveeh and Tahajjud prayers.

"Indeed the best sight in Abu Dhabi! I had a nice time walking around and taking pictures, so white that the exterior dazzled me at times! .... The displayed craftmanship is noticeable, I liked the mother pearl inlaids in the marble clad and the colorful imported chandeliers. It is also said it has world's largest carpet. Definitely a must when visiting Abu Dhabi! And girls don't worry about your clothes, they lend abayas for free!."
