'Roof of the World' rebels against Pakistan

Sorry I think there is more to do this. Did they have roots originally from there? There have been people who migrated from AJK to Punjab during the Mangla dam build (1960's), as compensation from the government. These people then migrated back, but they are very, very few in number. Absolutely no settlement from outside AJK is allowed.

If your friend has no link to AJK then I simply don't believe you as will anyone else from AJK. Where does he live in AJK? What's his family name? Do you know any posts they hold within the AJK administration?

his dad is in military, but not of Kashmiri origin. They have got residence their own house in Mirpur. Nrither his grandad ever lived in Mirpur.

Indian occupied Kashmir is disputed territory. Pakistan must keep this issue alive and inform the world of illegal Indian occupation of this Muslim majority area against the people's will there. Eventually Muslim nations of the world will become developed and provide support to Pakistan on Kashmir issue, its just a matter of time. Once China forms its owns NATO like security alliance, then that alliance may also be able to put pressure on India to let go of this area.

As for Gilgit Baltistan, I have long known that Indians have wet dream of gaining a foothold in this area to cut off Pakistan's land border with China and get access to Central Asia. They hope to see a revolt in that area from local population due to its demographics, so Pakistan should do development work and keep the local population on their side. I am sure RAW has been and is active in that area to destabilize and incite the local people against Pakistan govt.:

The fools in Pakistan govt are so fool that they don't wanna integrate GB into Pakistan. The people of those areas were the ones who fought Britishers, DOG ras & Indians & joined Pakistan & today their demand is to grant them provincial status.

In 1869, Gilgit was annexed to Kashmir State. Gilgit Agency was re-established in 1889. In 1889 a force with the name of the Gilgit Levies was raised under the command of Colonel Algernon Durand in order to establish better writ of Government. The force, in 1891, fought the battle of Nilt against Hunza. In 1913 Major JC Bridges reorganized the force on a company basis and the force was renamedt as the Gilgit Scouts. When the Gilgit scouts were raised, its strength was 582. Recruitment in the Gilgit scouts was based on the recommendation of the Mirs and Rajas of the area. Close relatives of both Mirs and Rajas on occasion were given direct Viceroy's Commissions in the corps of Gilgit Scouts.

In 1947 the Gilgit Scouts reverted to their original duties of internal security under the Pakistani Political Agent for Northern Areas. 582 men of the Gilgit Scouts were placed under the command of Major Muhammad Tufail Shaheed (Nishan-e-Haider).

On partition, the Gilgit agency was handed over to the Maharaja of Jammu and Kashmir by the British government. Brigadier Ghansara Singh arrived at Gilgit to implement the charge, as Governor. Subsequently Major General H L Scott the chief of military staff of Kashmir joined him. The troops of the Gilgit Scouts, being 100% Muslim, were in favour of accession to Pakistan. On 31 October 1947, in the afternoon, Honorary Captain Muhammad Baber Khan called a meeting of the Junior Commissioned Officers of the Gilgit Scouts in their mess, where it was unanimously decided to over throw the Dogra rule.

The governor surrendered on 1 November 1947. The Muslim company of the 6 Jammu Kahmir Infantry battalion, coming to Gilgit from Bunji under the command of Captain Hassan Khan, also joined the Scouts. The Scouts attacked and destroyed a Dogra check post and burnt the Partab Bridge. The Sikh and Dogra elements of the Kashmiri forces deserted and were later captured. 27,000 square miles (70,000 km2) were thus liberated from the Dogra Raj. The force was then placed under the command of Major Muhammad Tufail Shaheed (Nishan-i-Haider), Honorary Captain Muhammad Baber Khan of 1st Northern Light Infantry Regiment, who played a vital role in the war of liberation (from the Dogra Raj) in 1947.

Indians can only dream to get a foot hold in this area.

BTW that map was wrong as there is no such thing as "gifted to China"

Negotiations between the nations officially began on October 13, 1962 and resulted in an agreement being signed on 2 March 1963. It was signed by foreign ministers Chen Yi for the Chinese and Zulfikar Ali Bhutto for the Pakistani.
The agreement resulted in China withdrawing from about 750 sq m of territory, and Pakistan withdrawing its claim to about 2,050 sq m of territory (which it had not in fact controlled or administered).

Is he posted there? Does his dad still serve in the army? If that is the case then after his service they leave. Case in point I know a a high ranking person of Pakhtun decent who wasn't allowed to settle in AJK after his posting there. He fell in love with the Muzaffarabad region.

GILGIT: Over three dozen suspected terrorists wearing Pak army uniform stormed a police station in Diamer district on Friday morning, tied the policemen with ropes and took away weapons, uniform, wireless sets, and other valuables from the cops.

The Dodishal police station is situated a kilometer from the Karakuram Highway at the border of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Gilgit-Baltistan regions.

Police sources told Dawn that 36 to 40 unidentified armed men wearing army uniform stormed the police station at about 1:30am on Friday. The sources said that only six police personnel were present at duty when the police station was attacked, adding that the assailants tied the personnel with ropes and thrashed some over resistance.

The attackers took away 10 guns, three pistols, thousands of rounds, wireless telephone sets, police uniforms and other belongings of the police personnel.

Overcome cops and take away weapons, other valuables from them
The sources said that the attackers were speaking Urdu, Pashto and Shina languages and also accused the policemen of being the puppets of America. They said that other police stations of Diamer district were informed after three hours of the incident.

GB home secretary, Attaul Rahman, told Dawn that additional police force had been sent to Diamer district from Gilgit for catching the culprits and investigating the incident.

He said that Inspector General of Police, Saleem Bathi, was leading a search operation in Diamer district and adjoining areas to nab the outlaws.

Dawn tried to contact the police officials at the scene, but to no avail as the area is remote and has no communication facilities.

The region’s home secretary informed that GB had requested the KP government and the security forces to help arrest the terrorists. Security at the Karakuram Highway has also been enhanced to provide protection to the travelers, he said.

Mr Rehman said that all the information would be made public once the investigation into the case completed.

This is the fourth attack to have been carried out by terrorists wearing Pakistan army uniform.

In February, 18 passengers belonging to Shia sect, who were travelling on KKH from Rawalpindi to Gilgit, were gunned down in Kohistan district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

In a similar incident in August 2012, 19 Shia community members were gunned down at Lalusar near of Babusar Top while going to Rawalpindi from Gilgit. In June 2013, 10 foreign tourists, including one Pakistani guide, were killed at Nanga Parbat base camp in Diamer district.

The GB home secretary said that it seemed that the same group was involved in the latest incident.

A case against unknown attackers was registered at the Dodishal police station.

Once in a year incident. There are police stations in Skardu where not even a single FIR has been registered for past two years.

The militants whom u had supported for some strategic depth in Kashmir,Afghanistan have come to roost.

Again off topic. As I said. When a bharati finds nothing to discuss or gets busted. Tries to hide behind the terror incidents. Shameful behavior which is very common among bharatis.

I did quote the relevant sections, which required Pakistani army to vacate territories of J&K.

Presence of Pakistani army in Kashmir is a violation of the truce agreement of UN resolution 47.

Allow me

U.N.Resolution on J&K August 13, 1948

hope you remember Karachi Agreement (link from UN website to download the full document)

Karachi Agreement 1.JPG

Karachi Agreement 2.JPG

Now you can understand why the presence of Pakistani troops in Kashmir is not the violation of any of UN resolution...... and 'Indian government is in agreement to this'

Karachi agreement contradicts many things.

Article 2 clause (D) of Azad Jammu and Kashmir interim constitutional act 1974, clearly states that Azad Jammu and Kashmir is a part of greater Jammu and Kashmir.

under section 21 of the AJK Interim Constitution Act, 1974 with clearly defined executive, legislative and judicial sphere enumerated in the third schedule of the Act. Which contradicts Article 2 clause (D) of AJK constitutional act of 1974.

So when article 257 is there, I dont understand how there are relations with AJK with article 2 clause(D). LOL
