I'd like to think you're successful. Do you live in Brussels? My Belgian friend once told me that there is some tension between the French and German / Dutch speaking community in Brussels. Is there any truth in that?

I live near Brussels. The tension is not really in Brussels, which has been taken over by francophones, even though originally it was a flemish city.

The problem is that the flemish region generates a lot of the taxes, while the french speaking regions are seen as people relying on state benefits, lazy, corrupt, etc.

The flemish seem to think that they can be better off without piggy backing the french parts of the country.

They bicker, and accuse. But I don't see them seperating.

It's unusual for a student to have a friday night at home, isn't it???

I'm happy to report that I am no longer a student. I found a job last month after more than 6 months of job hunting, the way things are I hope to keep it for awhile. It has been a stressful week, so I'd much rather kick back and relax with a nice glass of wine.
