The news was also announced on PEMRA’s official Twitter account.

The PEMRA chairman said in a statement the Pakistani channels are undergoing a huge loss via the operation of this illegal business, which is is also destroying the culture and social values of Pakistan.

Good. I have supported the banning of Indian content and Bollywood. This will help the local industry grow as well as shake off the influence of Bollywood. The ban would be useless if its not implemented for a few years. Long term is required.

Good this will also reduce Pakistan's India obsession. Until Pakistan stops seeing India subjectively and emotionally peace will never come. There is a need for young Pakistanis to grow without 'India'. Pakistanis should learn to take India as any other country.

Look at our media and then yours, you will know how obsessed India is about Pakistan, it's you who need to grow without Pakistan obsession.

They should have banned them with immediate effect instead of giving time of 15th October, Cinema owner did well, they removed Indian movies with immediate effect and start showing all previously released Pakistani movies. They asked Pakistani film Industry to give them 50 movies a year and they will not screen any Indian move again. Now Industry should deliver.

Well done Pemra, opening our market to Indian motion media was a bad decision in the first place.

I hope the ban becomes permanent, no place for vulgar Bollywood or Pak obsessed Indian news channels.

Pakistan should also boycott participation in Indian talkshows like the Big Arnab Circus. Isolate them to their own planet.

What about the DishTVs? Why those are even allowed to sold?

By the way if local cable operators broadcast Bollywood movie channel with pirated DVDs/CDs than let them do.

The orders from PEMRA feels more like pacifier for all those who are shouting out loud to ban Indian content from Pakistan's TV channels.

October 15 means there are still 12 days left.

In 12 days, all the voices of complainants will die down and the channels will be able to continue with the Indian content they are showing. Even if some channel got fined, it will be minimal just to fulfill the formalities and satisfy anyone left to criticize. If PEMRA is really sincere to put a ban on Indian content then why not start today???

Lol kid its the other way around...Look at our Politicians and then yours, Look at our Armed Forces and then yours, Look at our Media and yours, look at Pakistani Nation then War Mongering Indian Nation...!
You'll know how Much India is Obsessed with Pakistan..!

No, majority of Indians have very little idea about Pakistan- I am sure 95% of Indians don't know what is the capital of Pakistan...unlike Pakistanis who have much better idea about India. News is different, where Pakistan is only bashed, cultural invasion is another. Indian films and TV soap operas are having deep impact on Pakistani young. This is not good for Pakistan, neither for India. Lot of countries have issues, ex: India - China has, but we have kept issues aside and do $70 billion of trade. Look at India - Pakistan, nothing moving forward.

This will result in closure of some channels and booming business of other channels biggest benificiary will be ARY and Hum group their rivals will get hammered by this move

India banned Pakistani channels way back in 2008 before that ARy and Aaj were aired in India

Type Pakistan and go to News, the first link will be Indian.
BTW, isn't this a Pakistani website? :azn:
Don't tell mention Pakistan obsessed with India here, at least leave some of your dignity intact. :D
