Your logic is hilarious.

I don't see Korean or European vessels being bought by the BN. It is always vintage used coast guard cutters/frigates. And there is no sign of that type 054 frigate.

Maybe we should have offered a frigate based on Kamorta class. But you know you can't afford it with your small defense budget unless we finance it.

Well keep searching you'll get there.......End of the day indian defence minister and delegates come to Bangladesh trying to sell their wares and gets told not interested....end of story.

That's why I wanted the Indian government to increase the capital base of our exim banks...So that countries like Bangladesh doesn't have to buy modern warships like these.

mate India needs to offer something that we want . We want to build everything ourselves hopefully in some not so distant future. Currently we are building the capacity for it,training for it. If you want more co-operation from BD Military, offer something that might be of interest to us.

LOL....exactly.....yes and how damning is it that, we prefer to buy these old rust buckets then buy indian "wunder weapons", even when the minister offers "highly" affordable options. Simple answer, we don't buy indian weapons...that to with hasina in charge of the defence portfolio?

The defence minister didn't even get the message when they sent the PSO to meet him....

Were more interested in building in BD ourselves through ToT, thats why you see us buying so many Chinese equipment.

Durjoy class LPCs were bought from China and now 2 are under construction at the Khulna port.

Type 056 corvettes were bought and with Chinese support these to will be built at Khulna port.

After this the navy wants to build upgraded versions designed and developed jointly with China.

We want to build APCs, Heavy mortars, MRLs etc etc.....we eventually want to enter the export market in the long run.

BNS Bangabandhu is a Daewoo DW 2000 class vessel and is one of the more modern frigates in South Asia considering automated weapons suites, which includes:
  • Otomat missiles (the frigate is being upgraded with the addition of another quad Otomat anti-ship missile launchers).

  • Point-defence surface-to-air missile (SAM) system in the form of 8 FM-90N SAMs (15 kilometres (9.3 mi) range)

  • Four Otobreda 40 mm/70 compact CIWS in two twin mounts.

Dude he's like trump, showing him facts won't make any difference.

We haven't offered anything at prices affordable to you, have we ? What we have offered is stuff like Brahmos that is too expensive for your kind.

I said vessels & not weapon systems. And you've only one example of them.

Something like the ICGS Samar class.

like offer of frigate with TOT :D

What would you do with a Frigate? I know its cool to have fancy items, but are they of any other use? Any immediate threats?

you see that is your problem, you want to hide your inability to meet demand by asking different question.
we want, now question is, can you offer something in it ? simple yes or no thing.

Our aim is to become a blue water navy. A frigate will add extra bit of punch in our future armada which will consists of destroyer and cruisers. Our ultimate goal is Indian ocean region and beyond.

So now your saying that your defence minister flew to Dhaka to offer, OPVs knowing they were "too expensive" for us, are you saying he's that stupid a salesman? You sure you want him to be your defence minister?

Well you say Brahmos is too expensive for us, yet your coutry has offered that system to us on several occassions....are they so dumb that they offer to sell gear to clients that they know the client can't afford to buy?

WOW please keep digging

Well of course we have indigenous solutions like Godavari class, Brahmaputra class and the most modern stealthy Shivalik Class.
