Something like the ICGS Samar class.
An 1800 ton OPV with a 6000 mile range is not appropriate for Bangladesh coast guard considering our coastline and area of marine jurisdiction. It's not a good fit because unlike India, our coastline is much smaller.
Like I said before, our needs for OPV's are around 350 ton and 600 ton classes with maximum seven days endurance to complete their required patrols before completing a circuit for supplies replenishment and crew change. Coast Guard is now building their own modern design which is similar to the Damen-designed USCG Sentinel-class cutter. The Samar class is a bit large and frankly, a bit outdated.

Keel for the first two of a large batch has been laid (around twenty within the first five years) at Dhaka Dockyard Engineering owned by the Navy. Looks like a large auto-cannon up front but don't know what type.

These are far faster, lower slung and have way better sea-keeping qualities (less roll and pitch) in heavy seas than existing designs like the Padma class (also built locally). In fact indigenous manufacture of OPVs of various sizes goes back to the sixties.

What would you do with a Frigate? I know its cool to have fancy items, but are they of any other use? Any immediate threats?
You are not a Navy person - it is clear to see.
Frigates exist for other reasons than 'immediate threats'.
