Pakistanis getting to know our Indian Muslim members

Yes brother, this is indeed a unique place on the internet to bring different minds and perspectives from Pakistan. You get the whole political spectrum here.

My all time favorite dish these days is lamb. There are so many different ways to cook it. Lamb chanp is my favorite.

Wa alaikum assalam wrwb.

It would be great if you can start a thread or provide some pdf links.on Pakistani Cuisine.

. . . .
Those living in west can tell very well how Pakistanis and muslim indians get along. I experienced that too while abroad and its clear we are practically similar. Like a portion of us left in india.

. .
The youtube video shared above shows the cook sneak in a few onions but that is still not the authentic way since the cook is not Pushtun. The trick is; DO NOT ADD ANY ONIONS. Simply fry the meat in oil with ginger, garlic and salt and add tomatoes and green chilies later. A little black pepper doesn't hurt if you want a bit more spicy.

I have noted that the Afghans make it with less black pepper, while the Pushtoons from Pakistan add black pepper and some more spices (coriander seeds?)

Does anyone from the UK know how they make it at Tayyabs or Lahore Kabab house? That is also heavenly!

I wanted to create a light-hearted thread where Pakistanis and Indian Muslims can discuss and learn from each other in an environment free of the usual trolling.

So to get it started, i wanted to ask our Indian Muslim members some simple questions.

Why did you join PDF?

What did/do you hope to learn from Pakistanis?

How has your experience been on this forum?

Was there anything interesting you learned from PDF?
Thanks first of all for tagging me. This is a good thread with like minded inviduals. Belated Eid Mubarak to all of you.

Why did you join PDF?
So, to be honest, I have followed PDF since 2012 and found it to be (pardon me) infested with Sanghis. Even then, I found this forum to be a breath of fresh air - compared to the cesspool of Twitter or social media in general. Of course, I was only starting out on Twitter then. Did not join PDF then, but kept checking out posts for Neelum valley pics taken by members - pics that you don't find on Google easily.

What did you hope to learn from Pakistanis?
I have interacted with Pakistanis ever since I left India - and to be honest, apart from a few Pak nationalists who condemn us to genocide, I don't see any large difference. To be fair, the religiousity of an average non resident Pakistani is slightly less pronounced when compared to Indians, but besides that there is little difference.

How has your experience been on this forum?
There are a lot of things that you have in your mind but are not able to share in public posts. PDF allows a more personal channel of communication. So, yeah, overall very positive.

Was there anything interesting?
Yes. I had a hypothesis with regards to the source of all the ills that plague the Indian society (that is Hindu society is morally bankrupt and the source is Hinduism). I found it largely validated here as well. The very fact that many if not most of the social ills of India that I am sure must have existed in pre partition Punjab and Sindh no longer do. For instance the numerous riots in unified Punjab or tensions in Sindh and resulting loss of innocent Muslims have been avoided. I can't claim this is a complete validation, to be fair. But it is convincing to me, it makes sense. I already knew that Pakistanis are (in general) better human beings and their moral compass remains in the right place. The same cannot be said about Hindus in our country.

If memory serves me well, they have many good options in Birmingham. London is more a fusion place in terms of cuisine.

Long time ago (feb 2002) - Mo Aswat our cricket captain at the time came to see me and told me he was going to India (village called Allipur i think) and would be back 2 weeks before the start of the 1st game of the season.
2 weeks later - along with a couple of his mates he was dragged from his car and beheaded.

That's terrible ! What was his supposed crime ?

I still see his oldest son and he has become a better cricketer than his father!

Nice.

and accept that the same Modi has now become the supremo in charge hence my fears for ALL Muslims in India.

Yeah, these lynchings have become normal in an already apathetic society.

Pleasing to here that you are for example eat in peace what you desire and hopefully pray and enjoy the "normal" things in life.
Peace

Thank you.

just realized that i'm typing this while my old very conservative pro-modi hindu neighbour is waiting for me to help him with his new laptop

Both @jamahir and @xeuss are genuine good people whom I can see myself being friends with in real life. I especially respect the frankness which with they share their views.

Thank you. I hope some day there can be a PDF gathering where we all can meet, dine and begin long term associations.

Ok brother, I will do that when I get a chance and tag you guys.

@ghazi52 bhai already has such a thread though I forgot the link.

PIP bhai can add there.

Sorry if I thought you were a false flagger in the past BTW. A friend has assured me that you are not.

To be honest, @AfrazulMandal's radical ideas make others think that he is from
BJP IT Cell here to create confusion. Afrazul, please tone down your thoughts.

I guess nothing but being a Muslim and trying to go and visit friends. Caught by a frenzied group hell bent on killing Muslims. Just a terrible time and shows what the power of creating a frenzy.

Collective violence still unchains itself against individuals, groups or families considered at the root of misfortune, unemployment, illness or the like. Anything, even trivial, can spark off the cycle of such violence. The collective hatred and frustration is directed at anybody not conforming to the perpetrators’ convictions – and those are manifold.

History shows the generation of "scapegoat" - Hitler created the Jews as his problem for example. Todays boogeyman is of course Muslims. All the faults of the world are down to Muslamics and their creed.

The social media now allow harassing and mobbing the “culprit” on an unprecedented scale and publishing hate messages often drive victims into despair. One only has to look at the net today, twitter Facebook and other outlets to see how quick the hatred can spread. Recently some Hindus on a whatsapp group lynched a Muslim to death and boasted openly about it.

My short tenure has shown me deep rooted hatred that the likes of Modi has spread in society - to reverse such hatred may take years and years. I guess they dont realise - whose next?

learn interesting new things every innings.

@padamchen aap bhi batao zara apne barey mein kuch, kyun join kia, kya seekha.. etc

To get to meet intelligent Pakistani girls. And boys.

I wanted to see how they live. Their cities. What they eat. What they wear. Do some of them shave.

Very good. Maybe except for the regular bans. But in general very good.

Interesting thing I learned is that I like nearly as many Pakistanis as I do Indians from the membership. Maybe actually a tad more of them than our own. But that might be a sampling error over the years.

I did not join to learn about Muslims or Islam. I've grown up with both and know enough for this lifetime. At the very least.

Cheers, Doc
