Pakistani patients facing heavy odds in India

.
@archie- first of all, i dont know about appolo but in other indian hospitals, it costs between 7lc-15lc. second, no one on this earth can guarentee a 100pc success in transplant. cause, its upto the body in the end, whether to accept or reject the alien organ. and generally in 1/10 cases, it rejects it, no doctor can do anything about it, not until stem cell research makes some advancement. usually the body rejects the alien organ within hours, in that case, the person can be saved. but some cases have been reported where the body rejects the organ even after 3 months.

Swati,

interestingly rejections have even been reported after 2 years in transplant patients, post that its up to the upkeep that happens. :)

oh, it isn't mentioned in my textbook. might be. its all upto god after that. generally 9/10 dont have any prob. in future. i dont see any diff. why one should choose singapore over india, when we have the best docs. we undergo the toughest training here and our syllabus is most modern and hard.

its all a matter of perceptions, a lot of people still dont view india on the advancements the country has made and are stuck with age old perceptions, all a matter of proper information not reaching them. that said, the transplant surgeries in india are constantly increasing by the day, though one wished people really got into donating their organs, one wonders what satisfaction all the dead and their relatives get will all those useful organs being either burnt or buried all to be decomposed or to be eaten by insects and animals!

well jana, in that case your friend and their family are being taken for a ride and dont be surprised if the pakistani doctor who is referring and through whom the correspondence is happening ends up making a good amount of money, anyways the figure you suggest here will have visa, air fare (most likely via dubai), pick and drop from and to the airport, 5 star hotel accommodation, to and fro travel to the hospital of the attendants and add to that apollo is a 5star hospital facility and the room they will be putting up the patient will be again on offer of the highest end.

if they want to lower the costs by a significant margin, i suggest sir ganga ram. their panel is listed up on their website (Liver Transplantation India Healthcare Hospital India Multi-Organ Transplantation Treatment Center Hospitals India Department Of Multi-Organ Transplantation India), get the contact details of one of the docs by calling up the reception (91-11-25750000), have a word with one of the concerned docs either through phone or by chatting online, fix up all the details with the doc. there is a hotel -sidhartha hotel (Luxury Hotels Delhi Boutique Hotels Delhi India Best Value JP Siddharth Hotels Deluxe Hotels Siddharth Hotel Deluxe Plaza) a 5 star hotel in close vicinity where every day commuting can either happen on foot (10-15mins walk one way) or an auto riksha will do the same for around 20rs one way and this place would cost one around 6,500rs though not sure how much would it be for non-indians and if they further want to lower the costs then they can rent a house in close vicinity which all a posh locality.

once all is fixed up, ask this doc who is coordinating from pakistan to put the reference for ganga ram and that your friend has already fixed up with docs in india at ganga ram.

you want any more details, you can always pm me.

Yes thank you we would need details as in the near past we had to contact so many people to get the estimate of the cost.

and one more thing we were thinking that this Apolo Hospital and Dr. Gupta is often refereed to patients here for liver transplant then there must be some link
