What can Pakistan do with its riches once the natural resources are exploited, and where will it find itself?

Are Pakistanis ready to deal with riches? how would they react?

From history and facts, sudden riches makes people lazy and deviate to the wrong side of life; Hollywood is a good example, or the people inheriting large sums of money, or better yet people winning a lottery.

To be able to handle material riches requires a high level of education and good sense about the power it brings with it.

So maybe the wise Pakistanis are holding these riches for some period of time, till most people are educated and able to handle abundant material riches without loosing their minds to the dark side of life.

first of all pakistan doesnt have any natural resources and no real study has been done to prove they are usable and economically viable. lets for a sec agree pakistan does have them:

riches will only be produced if the natural resources are exploited by private companies. pakistan doesnt have any private company that has money and capability to exploit resources. it will be govt and money will to straight to swiss banks.

if u wannaa wait till pakistan has high education them its not happening soon as literacy rate is lower than 40% and is stagnant.
it will be hard for pakistan.

Lol there is a reason you only have "75 likes".

State companies are required in order to build better infrastructure. Then those companies can be privatized. I AGREE with your comment on the swiss banks.

Higher education is required, no doubt.

Its pretty late, so thats why I keeping it spartan.

That is the educated middle class, and there is a thread about it in the forum.

Yes, many threads on that too, but let's not dream of heights reachable before we have a catapult.

You sure buddy? You might wanna have a rethink about that...:coffee:

As far as I know, Pakistan has more resources than many countries out there; and I mean alot of resources, more than enough to kick start our economy and sustain it for a good period of time.

What can Pakistan do with its riches once the natural resources are exploited, and where will it find itself?

I think it's more appropriate to worry about when we're going to start extracting them. As far as using them goes, it's best to use them to properly industrialise Pakistan, and start properly funding schools, colleges and universities; and spend on healthcare etc.
By then the economy should start relying on various things. I mean look at Dubai: they used their oil to become (properly) rich, and are now mostly relying on tourism and various other things.

will have a gdp better then India?

Historically speaking, Pakistan's GDP has been equal to or better then India's.
We are in a slump due to the WOT and bad governance.
Elections are going to happen in about 6 months and we can hopefully kick out this corrupt government and raise our GDP again.

Yeah, we can sell all our resources but then we will be like India, huge GDP worth but people still are in 3rd world status and immense poor

I guess you mean per capita GDP and not GDP as a whole.. Right??

You are still in 3rd world status with immensely poor people.. but are without a huge GDP as well ;)
